Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

Unless you're driving through the gorgeous southwest to get to Scottsdale, the PHX airport is the closest metropolitan airport and super convenient to fly in and out through. It's roughly a 30-40 minute Uber/taxi ride to the recommended hotels (typically under $50). If you're flying from NYC, direct flights leave from JFK and EWR and are approximately 5 hours long with a 3-hour time change. If you're flying from Chicago, direct flights primarily leave from ORD and are 3.5 hours long with a 2-hour time change.
