We’re getting married!

It all started with our mutual friend, Sarah, showing Najee a picture of Alexis. After instantly getting heart eyes Najee had to go see Alexis for himself. So Najee took a trip to the dispatch communication center where he finally saw Alexis in person. After this short meeting, Najee sent Alexis a message with his phone number encrypted within, which went right over her head. Ultimately we finally met in an outside setting where we talked for several hours. This 3+ hour meeting led to seeing each other more often and the rest is history!

This date had no significance. The idea was to create a special memory on a day of no significance to make it our own. We went to one of our favorite hotels in Houston, TX, that has an outdoor fire-pit in the back and served as our perfect chill location. Frequently we would grab a bottle of wine (or 3) and spend the evening or night listening to music, talking and enjoy the weather before heading to bed. Alexis had no idea, she thought Disney on Ice was the destination. Needless to say she became frustrated when asked to put on a blindfold for the last ten minutes of the drive. Little did she know most of our closest friends and family members were waiting for our arrival at the hotel to witness our engagement. We walked to the hotel terrace where music was being played and her blindfold was removed. After a short speech, Najee got on his knee and asked Alexis for her hand in marriage. With a large smile on her face she said “Yes” and we were engaged. We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives and cant wait to share it with you! See you in Maryland!
