For all the Texans in the house, this one's for you. Dripping Springs is home to the Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room. Transport back to your college days by enjoying some delicious cocktails made with Sweet Tea or Pink Grapefruit Deep Eddy Vodka.

This is one of our favorite places to visit. If you're into quaint German towns and LOTS of wine, Fredericksburg is the place to go. If you're staying a bit longer or simply want to explore the town, it's about a one hour drive West of Dripping Springs. Fredericksburg is home to the 2nd largest wine tourism in the country only behind Napa Valley. We certainly encourage trips to multiple vineyards which we will list below.
Wine not really your thing? Be sure to visit Altstadt Brewery on the main drag in Fredericksburg. It's impossible to miss as the place is MASSIVE. The beer is delicious, lots of space to sit and relax, enjoy a pretzel in the beer hall, and don't forget to visit tractor museum located near the front entrance.
When entering Fredericksburg from the East, you will pass by a lot of vineyards before hanging a left to get to Das Peach Haus. This place is much more rustic, but makes incredible homemade peach cobbler and sells all kinds of jams, jellies, sauces, crackers, you name it! They also have their own line of peach wine and you have to check out the beautiful pond and trees in the back.
If you want to feel like you just stepped foot into Tuscany, Italy look no further than Grape Creek Vineyards. The quality of the wine is high end and you're taken through a wonderful experience with your personal expert you will have during your tasting. We belong to the wine club and receive three bottles of wine every three months, so we highly recommend you sign up.
Fredericksburg is the boyhood home of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Nimitz served as commander in chief, United States Pacific Fleet (CinCPAC), and was soon afterward named commander in chief, Pacific Ocean Areas, during World War II. The six-acre site includes the Admiral Nimitz Museum, which is housed in the old Nimitz Hotel and tells the story of Nimitz beginning with his life as a young boy through his naval career as well as the evolution of the old hotel.
If history is more your style, visit LBJ State Park in Stonewall. LBJ was born and raised in the Hill Country which is why Johnson City can be found on a map of Texas. Hop across the river and visit the neighboring LBJ Ranch while you're there, too.
On your way to or from Frederickburg, be sure to stop by Johnson City named after President Lyndon B. Johnson, and visit his childhood home. The President lived here from the age of five until his high school graduation in 1924. The home is furnished in the early to mid-1920s period and as such depicts a rural Texas lifestyle of 75 years ago.
