The Utah Olympic Park is a winter sports park built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and is located 28 miles east of Salt Lake City near Park City, Utah, United States. During the 2002 games the park hosted the bobsleigh, skeleton, luge, ski jumping, and Nordic combined events. They now have tons of summer activities for all of our adventure-seekers.
Within walking distance to the hotel, City Creek Center is a must-see attraction. It has a fully tractable glass roof that opens and closes, unique to any shopping center in the United States. A pedestrian sky bridge over Main Street unifies the center on two city blocks.
5-7 DAY TRIP If you are visiting for a few extra days and are looking for a desert adventure, check out Utah's many national parks. If you begin in Zion, you are only a little over four hours from SLC and only three hours from Las Vegas. You may even catch Matt & Alexandra on this road trip after the wedding!
Bell Canyon Granite Trail is a very popular Salt Lake City hike located right at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Not only are there great views of the Lone Peak Wilderness and the Wasatch Mountains, you'll enjoy fantastic overlooks of Salt Lake City. After only three-quarters of a mile you'll reach the "lake," which is really the lower of two reservoirs that are located in this watershed.
We stumbled upon this top-rated breakfast spot on our first trip to Salt Lake City together! Matt claims this is one of the best chicken sandwiches he has ever had (he is a self-proclaimed chicken sandwich connoisseur). Go early to avoid the lines!
Less than a quarter of a mile from the hotel, you will find one of our favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City. Admittedly, Alexandra walked in and fell in love with the "ambience" before even placing her order! The floor to ceiling spirit wall and diverse menu is sure to have something for everyone. You will want to make a reservation in advance as this is a popular spot!
