We met during orientation for First Years at Gettysburg College. I was super nervous and timid, Josh was outgoing and friendly. He made sure I wasn't all by myself during those first few weeks of college. Over time, we became better and better friends and eventually realized we wanted to become a couple. As they say, the rest is history!

We were together for our winter breaks from PA school and medical school and were able to see each other for the first time in weeks. I had wanted to go see the Kozier's Christmas lights, so we went the day after Christmas. I noticed a square object in Josh's coat pocket and texted my friends frantically to get the read on the situation. They said don't read into it and so I didn't. We went through the lights, no proposal. We then went to dinner at (get this) The Hitching Post. We had dinner, still no ring. Finally, we went out to the car to leave and Josh suddenly says "get out of the car," like some 90s cop drama. So I did, and he came around to my side and proposed to me right there in that parking lot, all because he remembered that I told him a long, long time ago that I didn't want a public proposal. He delivered, the only witnesses to our engagement were the cars in the parking lot and the cars whizzing by on the highway.
