Once you get down here and feel the magic of Tulum, you won't need any of our guidance! Tulum is known for its food, delicious cocktails, and perfect adventures. You really cannot go wrong.
QUICK TIPS FOR YOUR TRIP
- English is spoken but not as widely as you’d expect for such a tourist town. It’s helpful to brush up on your Spanish!
- Pesos are the main currency used here although most places will accept USD. Cash is preferred.
- Avoid the no-name ATM’s and try to use a branch bank ATM such as ScotiaBank, HSBC, Banamex, Santander, or Banorte when getting cash.
- As a US citizen you don’t need a Visa to travel to Tulum but you will need a passport
- Tap water is NOT acceptable to drink here under any circumstances (recommend bringing some sort of stomach medicine in case you get sick)
- There is no Uber in Tulum but taxis are plentiful and pretty easy to flag down
Lastly, here our some of our favorite activities all over Tulum!
Our favorite mojito bar downtown (off of the beach strip) Live music and pure sugar cane for your delicious mojitos! Colorful and vibrant spot to mix it up!
