Flight
Alghero Airport
The closest airport is Alghero (AHO) which has daily flights from Rome and Milan along with flights from various other cities. Check out ITA Airlines for the daily flights to Alghero. Other airports on the island are a drive but may make a great option if you plan to explore a little more of Sardinia. Olbia is located in Costa Smeralda (maybe you'll run into George Clooney!) and is about three hours away. Cagliari is the capital of Sardinia and a great town with cafe culture.

Historic Center
The most beautiful part of town is the historic center, which doesn't have hotels but you can find great apartments on Airbnb or Booking. Imagine getting lost in the maze of cobble stoned streets in this pedestrian only part of town, stopping at one of the many bars of cafes to watch the sea and Italian life pass by. A little bit outside the Historic Center you can find a bigger selection of hotels and bed and breakfasts.

While it is possible to be in Alghero without a rental car, we highly recommend you get one as it makes exploring the best beaches and area a whole lot easier!
Travel Note
About the town
Alghero is a beautiful town on the northwest coast of Sardinia. The wedding will take place in Alghero Resort, a hotel in the countryside - about a 15 minute drive from anywhere in town. The main places to stay are in the Historic Center (mostly Airbnbs) or along Lido the long beach walkway which begins at the harbor. You can also stay at hotels right on the beach that are a little further away but you would need to take a short drive into town when you want to go out for a bite or drink.
