We met online! Reyna ("Delmy") had been living here in Maryland for a while and Aidan had just moved here from Michigan. We met on the old dating website Plenty Of Fish and became friends on Facebook fairly early too. We had different friends at that time and invited each other to join our respective groups for various outings, but never managed to meet in person - until July 2022. Aidan reached out to Delmy with the intent of seeing about getting a new hiking buddy, and Delmy said yes! She suggested we go to High Rock, near her house. On July 4th, we met up there and hiked around, alternating between climbing around on the rocks and sitting in the woods talking. The connection was instantaneous, if a bit shy - we each decided independently that we wanted to see the other again. The next hike was a few days later at Baker Park in Frederick, an after-work stroll, where Delmy taught Aidan how to find the freshest milkweed pods and eat them, and Aidan taught Delmy how to identify some trees. After that, we began hanging out together nearly every night after work, including many more hikes. Harpers Ferry became a favorite destination for both of us. August 4, 2022, we officially became a couple!

Aidan: Would you like to move in with me? Delmy: Yes. Aidan: Wait...do you want to marry me? Delmy: Yes. <<blink>> Both: Did we just get engaged? Both: I think so, yes. Aidan: Do you really want to marry me? Delmy: Yes. Both: Yay!!!

We both have many people and places in our lives that we love and cherish. Much of our relationship so far has been centered around Getting Out and Doing Things - whether visiting people, cooking and eating, hiking, or travel. We're both studying each other's languages (English and Spanish) to get to know each other more deeply, and are always looking for more ways to engage with each other and with the world.
