We met on the first day of undergrad during our archaeology class at UAB. Over the course of the semester, students started to drop the class and Leslie had the opportunity to slowly move closer to the handsome, vigorous notetaker until one day there was an open seat next to him. He wouldn't realize until 3-4 months later that maybe Leslie wanted to date him.

At the start of the year, Leslie stated that her New Year’s Resolution would be to get engaged. On the last day of the year, hours to midnight, Ryan popped the question at the base of Vulcan Statue. Ryan is always on the lookout for rocks during our hikes, and as an archaeologist, rocks can tell you quite a bit about what's going on beneath the soil. Ryan syked Leslie out by saying, "Hey! look at that rock". When Leslie picked it up and flipped it over, there was writing on it- "Will you Marry Me?". By the time she looked back, he was down on one knee. Now here we are inviting you to the wedding. Six years in the making, we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you.
