Fort Monroe is one of our favorite places to go walk around. On weekends we like to take the dogs and walk along the boardwalk or beach. There's plenty of history to learn about just by walking and reading, as well as visiting the Casemate Museum.
Nicki especially loves Oozlefinch as they normally have a ton of fruity and sour beers to try. They also typically have a food truck and a lot of open space to hang out.
The Air & Space Museum is walking distance to the venue and could be a good way to spend a few hours indoors.
We went here after checking out the venue for the first time. We had some delicious oysters and this has been one of our favorite places to stop and eat this side of the bridge.
Good food and fun drinks featuring the distillery there (Caiseal). They have live music most nights too!
There is plenty to do across the bridge into Norfolk. There are tons of restaurants, breweries, and sights to visit. We like Nauticus, O'Conner's Brewing Company, Makers Craft Brewery, 80/20 Burger Bar, Ocean View Beach. If there's something particular you'd like to find let me know and we'll be glad make recommendations.
Tons to do up in Williamsburg as well! You have the outlets you can shop at, you can walk around Historic Williamsburg and try the winery and local restaurants as well.
