Where do I park?

Please park in the public parking next to City Hall (off of Charles St.) Then you will walk one block north to the house.

What do I wear?

Answer

Fall cocktail or holiday dress attire. We are kicking off the 2024 holiday season and the wedding ceremony and reception will be outside. Our colors are plum hues with gold accents and the bride will be in white :)

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will start promptly at 2:00 pm. Please give yourself at least 30 minutes to arrive, find parking, and walk one block to get to the house. Plan to be seated by 2:00 pm.

What time should I arrive for the celebration?

Answer

Our celebration will begin at approximately 2:30p (immediately following the succinct ceremony). The celebration will conclude around 5:30pm.

What type of food will be served?

Answer

We will have a taco truck on site to serve plates of tacos, elotes, churros and non-alcoholic beverages. Each table will be called by number to receive your plate.

We will have a champaign toast for adult guests and a margarita machine to accompany the tacos. You are welcome to bring your own beverages, and we kindly ask that you keep it classy and tidy up after yourself.

Please see our registry page on this website. We are prioritizing funds for our honeymoon and other vacations and memories for us and the kids, and we have a few specified house items that we would love.

Why did we choose this venue?

Answer

Great question! I am so glad you asked. Broken Halos Haven is a place that allows grieving families a stress-free, no-cost getaway for newly widowed parents to bring their children and enjoy a vacation away from home. The house was built to be a place of grieving and healing in the acute months following the death of a spouse, for the surviving parent and children to reconnect and bond. The program offers a registry for friends and family to purchase activities, meals and other memory making opportunities so that the vacation is truly at no cost to the family. I had the opportunity to stay at the house in 2022 and the girls and I found healing and connection in the books, games and activities within and around the house. I am so happy to marry Matthew here, as this place is meaningful to us as we begin our chapter together, bringing with us our histories that have made us who we are today. We are excited to unite our children in this place, make new memories, and celebrate with you through the divinity of this peaceful location.

What are your colors?

The wedding party will be in plum with gold accents. The bride will be in white.

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The wedding and reception will be outdoors - rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Ladies bring flipflops to change into if preferred.

Can I bring children?

Answer

If your invitation includes a child's name, yes. If your invitation includes only adults, please acknowledge. We have a few specific children included because of how we met and our soccer team connection, otherwise, we know that children get bored at weddings and we want to have enough seats for our adult friends and family. Thank you for understanding.

Are we honeymooning?

Answer

Yes! Matthew and I are headed off to Puerto Vallarta Sunday, November 3rd bright and early in the morning. Thanks for celebrating with us and enjoy your extra hour of sleep after our party Saturday afternoon.
