We're Getting Married

We met in 2018 when our daughters' (Sam + Masi) recreational soccer teams merged, and formed the FC Stars team that they play on now. Since then, Evy has joined the team and the three girls play together every season. When we first met, I was intrigued that Matthew was the conditioning coach for the FC Stars and I loved watching him train the girls using military strategy. Over the years I began listening to him and picked up nuggets of information to use in my private run coaching program. I have been inspired and interested in Matthew for a while (and as it turns out, he has with me too). He has been a kind and gentle presence in our lives as a coach, a friend, and now a partner. In 2021 after Aaron died, Matthew showed up as a friend with a listening ear, a handyman for home repairs, and a workout buddy inviting us to weekend pickleball with his kids. After a few years of journey through friendship, support, interest, and a little flirting, we synced up in the fall of 2023 and our relationship began to grow in a new way. We fell in love over the holidays and our relationship progressed to becoming engaged on his birthday in May of 2024. Our years of history through friendship and coaching serves as our foundation, and our deepening love for each other provides excitement and freshness into this stage of life.
