Welcome to The Rafters at Historic St. Mark's where modern elegance meets 1800s charm. The Rafters is your ideal wedding destination. Our multi building campus sits just minutes from Uptown Charlotte, yet feels worlds away tucked into 13 secluded acres of century old trees. With everything you need from getting ready suites to the church to the reception, The Rafters can accommodate your special day without you or guests needing to travel elsewhere. Crafted with southern charm and offering modern amenities, our exposed beam reception hall wraps you and your guests in grandeur and beauty befitting the occasion. When you book The Rafters, the campus and all buildings are yours for the duration of your event. No need to clear out of our ready suites early. We only have one event per day, so when it's yours, it's all about you. We have packages to suit most needs, and even have an in house caterer available for you if you'd like. All are welcome in our space.

Entire campus exclusively yours during your 2 day rental. 3 hrs Friday for decorating/rehearsal. 13 hrs Saturday for getting ready, photos, wedding, & reception. Reception is fully catered w a seated, plated, served meal & your guests will choose from 2 entree options. Choice of 3 cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres included. Full serving staff included. Linens, place settings, & decorations included. Catering is $50-$70 per guest based on tier chosen and number of guests.

This is where you want to get married!
First, it’s beautiful. We did our ceremony at a Catholic church down the street and had our reception at the Rafters, but my favorite photos are by far the ones we took in front of the St Mark’s chapel- it’s so romantic! As a reception venue, it is very reasonably priced, and has everything you could need. We got ready in the adorable carriage house, and we also did my bridal shoot there a few weeks before the wedding- they turned out beautifully. Also, if you book with their caterer (The Flyin’ Lions), you get a discount AND support a good cause! But that’s not even the best part: their food is AMAZING. I am literally still dreaming about the salmon and mashed potatoes from my wedding day, and so many guests told me how much they loved the food. The taste testing was fun too, they have a ton of options! Also, Allison is the best coordinator EVER. You will love working with her, and every vendor I hired that had worked with her before told me the same thing! She is so personable and really gets to know you, and she will bend over backwards to help you with whatever you need. She is fantastic with communication; her responsiveness and helpfulness alone reduced my wedding planning stress. I also loved the preferred vendor list Allison provided; it made it a lot easier to narrow down our vendor choices! Allison and Debbie (from Flyin’ Lions) made our wedding and all the months leading up to it so special and wonderful; we cannot recommend them enough!

Our wedding day was perfect thanks to the beautiful Rafters and the amazing team there! Allison was so accommodating and patient with us and our vendors!
