The Gahanna Sanctuary is an affordable, nonprofit event venue in Gahanna, Ohio Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, our charming one-of-a-kind space features gorgeous Tudor stained-glass windows, ambient bistro string lights, an outdoor patio, a large Do-It-Yourself kitchen, a spacious private suite for getting ready, and so much more. Nestled in Gahanna's Creekside District, our venue is the ideal location for wedding ceremonies and receptions, family celebrations, community gatherings, birthday parties, fundraisers, and just about any kind of event you can imagine. Sanctuary Hall was built in 1895 has been listed on The National Register of Historic Places since 1987 and is located in the front of the venue inside the two main front doors. It consists of a large wooden dance floor and a contiguous large carpeted area that can be separated by lowering a red velvet curtain. The old raised choir area can be used for a DJ or bartender. This room is underneath the Gothic Revival style bell tower.

My husband and I were thrilled with our wedding experience at The Gahanna Sanctuary. From the very beginning, the staff was prompt, professional, and extremely convenient to work with, making the planning process a breeze. The venue itself is absolutely stunning - a beautifully preserved historic building with soaring ceilings and plenty of space for our 150 guests. We would highly recommend The Gahanna Sanctuary to any couple looking for a wedding venue on a budget. It’s a complete DIY facility giving you full creative control.

The venue is amazing. I loved every moment. The only thing that was an issue was that our main contact retired before we got married. She was very communicative and amazing, then we couldn't get email responses and overall communication was lacking after she left. The wedding ended up going so smoothly and it was all fine but it did cause stress beforehand. I LOVE the venue and would recommend it, but hope they will work on the communication.

The Gahanna Sanctuary is one of the easiest venues we work with. Its an easy layout with a large area in front for reception with a dance floor and stage, a back room for a cocktail hour and/or a buffet station, two suites for the bridal parties, and a large kitchen for the bar & catering staff.

Yes, but once on the premise it must be given away free, no cash bar or drink tickets or any re-selling with out the express written consent of the Board of Trustee.

Yes, our on-site lot accommodates 12 vehicles, on=street parking is free and directly across the street is a 70 space public parking lot.

Yes, our facilities is wheelchair accessible via a handicapped ramp in the parking lot by the kitchen door. Restrooms are partially handicapped assisted but not built to modern day ADA standards.

Tables and Chairs

Our rates vary according to the day of the week. Weekend days, including Friday, Saturday and Sunday, are highest in cost while Monday thru Thursday are the most affordable. We rent space for a block of hours on a date certain.

Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits if the total cost is above $3,000 are non-refundable. If an event is postponed, a change-of-date fee is charged to select a future date.

Columbus John Glenn International Airport is less than two miles from the venue.

No, cancellation or wedding liability insurance is not required but couples are strongly suggested to visit the issue and make their own decision.
