About this venue

Spillian is a place of dreams. An exquisite mountain great camp built in 1888 by the Fleischmann's Yeast Family, Spillian evokes the rustic elegance of the Gilded Age with original, unique historic oil murals, furnished with antiques, a Steinway piano, a concert harp, all on thirty two acres in the magical Catskill mountains. Eight enchanting rooms, each differently appointed, a grand dining room with a huge table for feasting, antique furniture, silver, art, and oriental rugs, 2 wood burning fireplaces, a porch to die for, claw foot tubs in every bath, a pond, an utterly romantic Victorian era rustic gazebo, and forests to explore, filled with moss covered rocks, hemlocks. Intimate, completely private, charming, and elegant with superb in-house catering. Spillian is a four season wedding location and was built for family and for celebrations.     My wife and I met and got engaged in the Catskill Mountains, so it was so important to us that we also got married there. We found Spillian from an online search, and my wife was instantly drawn to the place; I was skeptical. But after touring it for the first time and meeting the owners - Mark and Leigh - it was apparent this was the only place we would want to get married. At Spillian there are no rules, and intentionality is the driving force behind every decision. From the food, to the people, to the actual wedding day, if you can dream it they can accommodate it. We wanted to do our rehearsal dinner there, and they asked us what we wanted for food. I tentatively proposed a build-your-own Bahn Mi bar and Mark wrote back a delicious, detailed menu, complete with boba tea. The food was excellent, and the fact that they have some rooms for you and some guests to stay on site made it even more special. We elected to have our bridal party there and it was so nice to be able to spend some time with them before and after the wedding. We came with all of our own decorations, and our flowers were dropped off the night before, and we were nervous about getting everything set up that day. But Alex and Sam, our day-of coordinators, took care of everything and make it look even better than we had ever imagined. And when it came to the day of, we were so overwhelmed that it was hard to make snap decisions. Sam and Alex were so patient with us, and really helped guide us through the day. I can't sing their praises enough but will publicly thank them here for allowing us to have the wedding of our dreams.

    The staff and venue were exceptional. Our guests said it was the most unique and fun wedding they been to. Perfect if you want an outdoor wedding and the bonfire option is truly unique. Loved it here.

    Spillian helped create our dream wedding that we didn't even know existed. We never had a wedding vision or any must-have wedding vibes until we looked at Spillian and everything seemed to fall into place. From the amazing food to the helpful staff to the well-thought-out guest rooms and the beautiful ambiance, working with the Spillian crew and ultimately having our epic wedding weekend was the best time of our lives. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a different wedding than the same ones they attend. All of our guests said it was either THE best or one of the best weddings they had ever experienced.
