About this venue

Separk Mansion is a wedding venue located in Gastonia, North Carolina that is just 20 minutes from Charlotte. This renovated mansion is designed with beautiful weddings in mind and will give you an elegant backdrop that will create a celebration that is full of everlasting memories. Separk Mansion is ideal for both indoor and outdoor weddings. The first floor ballroom retains old vintage hardwood floors and has a ceiling that shimmers with crystal chandeliers. At the front there is a large staircase as well as large front doors that lead to an expansive limestone veranda that can be used for a cocktail hour. This impressive estate was built in 1919 by textile mogul Joseph Separk. He lived in the mansion with his wife and son during the 1920s. In 2012 it underwent complete renovation and is currently one of the most popular locations for ceremonies and receptions. The mansion is part of the York Chester Historic District and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Grand Ballroom

A romantic ballroom filled with Vintage Hardwood Floors and Sparkling Crystal Chandeliers.

The Ballroom is a dreamy location for your wedding reception and can comfortably accommodate 200 guests. The Ballroom can also be used as a ceremony location for a beautiful winter wedding or rain backup plan. The Ballroom features our Grand Staircase that is perfect for your grand entrance, a beautiful fireplace that can be filled with floating candles, numerous sparkling chandeliers throughout the whole space, and gorgeous French doors leading to the Veranda.

Black & White Room

Beautiful Black & White Floors and Stunning Natural Light

This stunning space is located right off of the Grand Ballroom and features three sets of historic French doors, black & white tiled floors, a fireplace and large windows to let in all the light. This spot is perfect for first looks and bridal portraits! Come time for reception, this makes the perfect space for a buffet set up and is conveniently set up to keep the line moving quickly. Not doing buffet? No problem! The space can be used for a bar, photo booth, additional tables, lounge, etc.

Formal Garden

Private Garden Perfect for Your Dream Ceremony

Located privately on the side of the Mansion, the Garden is a romantic setting for a garden ceremony. The Pergola is raised up so that all of your guests can comfortably watch your ceremony without no obstructions. Stone stairs lead down to the garden and are perfectly placed for you to make your grand entrance into the ceremony.

The Rose Garden

Twinkly Lights, Blooming Florals and Walls of Greenery

The Rose Garden is the newest addition to the Mansion and can be used for Ceremony, Cocktail Hour or Reception. The Garden features seasonal flowers, twinkly string lights, and a relaxing fountain. The space can also accommodate a large tent which is perfect for rain back up plans. It is also a beautiful location for pictures and first looks!

Upstairs Ballroom

Intimate Ballroom with Sparkling Chandeliers and Beautiful Fireplace

Our Upstairs Ballroom is the perfect space for an intimate ceremony, cocktail hour, or overflow seating for reception. The space can accommodate 150 guests for cocktail hour and 120 guests for ceremony. The space features chandeliers, wood floors, French doors, fireplace & pocket doors leading to the Bridal Suite. The Upstairs Ballroom provides a stress free rain back up plan and is a beautiful option!

The Bridal Suite

The perfect place to get ready for your big day!

Sip champagne and relax with your girls! The Bridal Suite features two rooms, a large closet, 2 stations with mirrored tables and Chiavari chairs, 2 couches to lounge and relax the morning of your wedding day! One room offers a quiet space for the Bride to relax and enjoy the moments before walking down the aisle and features a large mirror that is perfect for pictures and admiring your beautiful gown.

The Groom's Suite

The Perfect Man Cave to relax before walking down the aisle.

This space is the perfect hangout space for the Groom and his groomsmen. With a TV and bucket of beer, it's sure to keep them occupied on the morning of the Wedding! There is a private restroom and back staircase to make it easy to keep the bride & groom separated. There is a rack to hang up the tuxes and couches for them to relax before it's time to get changed!

    Working with Separk was super easy from start to finish. We had Hannah as our wedding coordinator and she did a great job with creating and sticking to the timeline. She also did great at setting up our decor items and some flowers we brought to the venue. She was very communicative with us and our bridal party/family so that everyone knew what was expected from them for the ceremony. Overall we had a great experience with Separk and had the most perfect wedding thanks to them!

    Separk is one of my top five favorite venues in the Charlotte Area, the on site coordinator Caylea understands the industry and is very flexible for installation times. They reach out before the wedding with detailed floor plan and time line (unless the bride has an outside planner). And the mansion itself is just gorgeous, as a florist I never get tired of finding new ways to create there.

    I can’t say enough about my experience at Separk Mansion. We were really picky on what we wanted in a wedding venue and wanted the wedding planning process to be as simple as possible. We immediately knew after leaving our tour that there was no other place than Separk to have our wedding. When we first met Emily she was the kindest person. What I liked most about Emily is that she was not looking to make a sale. You could see that she genuinely loved the mansion and all it had to offer and wanted us to be taken care of, regardless of who we picked to host. The all-inclusive package at Separk blew away any other all-inclusive packages in the area. What I liked most about Separk Mansion was how much time they invested in ME and my wedding. I always felt like my wedding was the only wedding booked there, even though they of course had one or two weddings each week. The constant checking in and wedding meetings were super helpful. I loved being able to talk all the details with just ONE person rather than many many vendors. When it came to decorations I loved being able to drop off everything the night before and knew it would be taken care of and set up when we got back. When we arrived the morning of the wedding we had snacks and beverages waiting for us, I felt like a queen. I can’t stress enough how much Emily took care of for us, it was literally everything. I did not have one worry or concern the day of my wedding. Due to Separk Mansion’s meticulous planning NOT ONE THING WENT WRONG on my day, which is CRAZY!! Emily and the entire Separk team felt like family at the end of the night and I am really lucky they were a part of our big day. If you are looking for a wedding venue that makes sure you are taken care of from start to finish and makes you feel like the only bride in the world then Separk Mansion is the place for you! Now that our wedding is over the relationships with Emily and the team continue and I find myself wishing I could go back to the mansion everyday.
