Every year since its opening in 2006, we have been an award-winning venue. The Semple Mansion boasts the largest original residential ballroom in Minneapolis—uniquely situated on the third floor for sweeping views of Downtown Minneapolis. It is absolutely enchanting for an evening reception. Your wedding at The Semple Mansion is guaranteed to be the most magical day of your life.

Step into the elegance of this turn-of-the-century mansion complete with beautiful landscaping, a grand foyer, sweeping staircase, original woodwork, crystal chandeliers, and the state's largest original residential ballroom with views of Downtown Minneapolis. The largest original residential ballroom is a beautiful space to celebrate. The 3,000 square foot third-floor ballroom features hardwood floors, spectacular domed ceilings, enormous Swarovski crystal chandeliers, restored Fresco paintings, stunning views of downtown Minneapolis, a stage area for a DJ or Band, and a stainless-steel commercial kitchen for caterers. The Grand Foyer serves well as a ceremony site, as well as a casual reception area for serving appetizers and beverages. Ornate ironwork doors open to this commanding 2,500 square foot space, while accommodating up to 200 seated guests.

great venue...lots of history...friendly staff
As a vendor, I've been working weddings and events at Semple for several years. Katherine is a gem to work with and the venue is super cool. Parking near by and an all around great vibe. Highly recommend.
A fairytale venue
Semple Mansion was an absolute dream venue. Our wedding was December 6, 2024. From the moment we first inquired, communication was fast and effective. We took swrveral tours and visits to nail down details - they were supportive and mostly transparent every step of the way. The staff went above and beyond to ensure it felt like our home for the day. The venue itself is truly a magical space - it feels like stepping into a fairytale, from the stunning murals and chandeliers to the intricate woodwork. There is so much character and a space for everyone to feel comfortable based on their vibe. They truly made the venue feel like our own for the day, and we are so grateful for the role they played in making our wedding day so special.
Beautiful venue in the city
I have photographed multiple weddings at Semple Mansion. It is a gorgeous venue with lots of places to take photos. One of my favorite spots is the grand staircase - it's beautiful and has amazing window light! The ceremony space is beautiful - to capture the beauty a skilled photographer can balance the lighting in the space filled with window light from many directions. The getting ready room is fantastic with the separate space for storage of items, helps keep the space tidy.
Gorgeous & Affordable Venue
Semple Mansion is an utterly GORGEOUS venue with lots of charm and character. Our guests were in awe of its beauty. The venue is also affordable and comparably priced to other venues in the Twin Cities area, but comes with more style and built in decor. Katherine, the on site coordinator, was also very responsive, accommodating, and extremely easy to work with!! I wouldn’t change a thing!
