Log Cabin at the Presidio

Epic country-style lodge made from local Monterey Cypress timber, nestled in San Francisco's Presidio Park

The Log Cabin is a unique wedding location in the heart of the Presidio National Park. While only moments from the big city, you’ll feel transported back in time to when soldiers joyfully caroused at this fortified military settlement. While the army is long gone, the good times remain. The nearby Fort Scott Barracks are one of the earliest examples of the Mission Revival architectural style, and a great opportunity for striking photos. As is the historic parade ground with an expansive lawn and native landscaping. The Fort Scott area covers 30-acres. Built in 1937, the Log Cabin has been exposed to the famous San Francisco weather for nearly a century. It is meticulously maintained by the Presidio Trust carpenters and conservators. The interior and exterior timbers are local Monterey Cypress first planted when the US Army settled here centuries ago. This is the only building of its type at the Presidio, and the building type is increasingly rare throughout the country.

We are so, so happy with our decision to hold our wedding reception at the Log Cabin at the Presidio. I would recommend the Log Cabin and Wedgewood Weddings to anyone looking for an all-in-one package, easy breezy planning, awesome event planners/coordinators, and a flawlessly executed day. The Log Cabin itself is beautiful, the food was amazing, the drinks were flowing, the flowers were beautiful, and the location in the Presidio is perfect. They have a fabulous team to help you plan and execute the wedding of your dreams! The team (Duckie, Jimmy, and Libby - huge shoutout!) all were awesome to work with through the planning process. Super communicative, responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and supportive through the whole thing. They helped us plan the most perfect day and made it so easy on us. Jimmy was our day-of coordinator and deserves extra praise for pivoting gracefully and adjusting the evening’s timeline flawlessly when our shuttles unfortunately were super late to arrive with our guests. The rest of the day-of team were all amazing, too. DJ Abel blew our socks off - we didn’t want typical wedding music, and he totally nailed the playlist and the vibe we were hoping for. I even had a touching moment with the security guard who pulled me aside and said he got emotional during the father/daughter dance, which was such a lovely thing for him to share. Wedgewood as an organization seems to have a very organized, structured approach to wedding planning, which I so appreciated. They were great partners and helped us have the most perfect day on one of the biggest days of our lives!

We loved our wedding at the Log Cabin. We booked it sight unseen since we weren’t able to travel out, but honestly it was even better than the pictures(though those were pretty accurate!). It feels cozy but also elegant. Everything was clear in terms of pricing and we never felt like there were any hidden costs. In fact, based on my costing out similar venues I felt like this was a great deal and I’m sure everyone who came to our wedding thought we paid double what we actually did. Any questions we had were quickly answered by the team, which was greatly appreciated. I don’t think it ever took longer than 24 hours to get a response. Throughout the process the team was incredibly helpful and kept us on track. We brought our own photographer and there was no issue with that at all. We used their bakery(so tasty!!), florist, and DJ. All their vendors were amazing honestly. The day of the wedding things went smoothly and we felt very taken care of. There was not a single thing for us to worry about and the transition from day of coordinator to our banquet captain all went very well. We worked most with Jimmy and Duckie leading up to the wedding, then had Libby for our coordinator, and then Juan was our banquet captain. They were all so fantastic. Food was amazing - our guests have continued to tell us how much they loved everything. That was the one area we were semi nervous about only because we hadn’t been able to try all of our food. What we did try at the quarterly tasting was tasty, but it was the only unknown for us. But again, everyone loved it and we did too. Best of all, our guests could not stop raving about the venue. Many people have told us it was the best wedding they’ve been to in a long time and we had the best time!

My husband and I had our wedding at the Log Cabin through wedgewood. Wedgewood made wedding planning such a breeze! The entire experience was such a smooth process which was what we wanted and they delivered. We loved this venue and so did our family and friends. Ceremony was facing the Golden Gate Bridge I mean how cool is that?! It was all so perfect.
