Mismanaged

Back in May I toured this venue to host my microwedding. I had a few emails with the Event Coordinator and a phone call before this meeting to confirm dates. Icona Avalon was always a dream venue of mine and when they said they had my date (which was in four months, yes we were planning quick) I was so excited. Comes the day we tour, and the Event Coordinator confirms at the beginning of the tour the date as well and that they had it open. We go through the tour (again impressed) and head up the Events office to discuss other details. We said we wanted to book right then and there. The Even Coordinator and Jr. Coordinator congratulated us and even popped champagne, They were in the middle of decorating for a wedding happening that day and said they would get the contract over to us on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). Tuesday comes...nothing...Wednesday, I reach out and the next day they email me telling me they gave our date away. I immediately emailed back and called asking for an explanation. It took them three more days to get back to me and it was the Jr. Coordinator who called while the Event Coordinator coached her in the background of what to say. They apologized and said it was mismanaged and tried to give us other dates. But, after confirming the initial date multiple times, immediately after the tour saying yes to the venue and confirming they would send a contract over I was extremely upset and disappointed with this venue. Granted, many others have had great experiences but to not call a bride back for 3 days when you "give away her date" is inexcusable. To even email me instead of call when you found this out is poor business practices in my opinion. I do not recommend.
