Alta Lodge is a classic mountain wedding venue with overnight lodging. Located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, at Alta Ski Area, our intimate lodge offers outstanding personal service and cuisine along with breathtaking views. From small gatherings to grand celebrations, our dedicated staff will assist you with your special event from start to finish, allowing you to relax and enjoy the wedding of your dreams. Our on-staff Wedding Coordinator is included with any booking, so our team will focus on the details while you enjoy your special day with family and friends. Within 32 miles of the Salt Lake International Airport, the Lodge is easily accessed for your family and friends from out of town.

Our ceremony patio offers a stunning backdrop - a perfect fit for couples looking for a mountain setting that speaks for itself. Sun Deck

Overlooking the Ceremony Patio, the Sun Deck showcases our stunning mountain backdrop.

The connection between the Lobby and our Ceremony Patio, the Sun Deck is where your guests first step outside and take in our amazing views. A popular space during cocktail hour, the Sun Deck is also an ideal setting for a more intimate outdoor dinner. Indoor seating is available adjacent to the Sun Deck in our Deck Room, so you can have both indoor and outdoor dining tables available for your guests.

The entryway to the venue, our Lobby displays your welcome book, gift table, and decor to set the mood for your big day.

A fully customizable space, the Lobby welcomes your guests as they arrive. The Lobby typically showcases a welcome table, gift table, wedding cake, and any additional decor provided by the couple. Should the weather not hold up for a fully outdoor event, we can transform the Lobby into a dance floor as well!

Dining Room

Primary indoor dining space

The Dining Room features west-facing windows with views of Mt. Superior. Used mostly during the colder months, the Dining Room is the best place to gather for a sophisticated indoor dinner. To accommodate larger groups, additional seating is available in the Deck Room.

Sitzmark Club Room

Our historic mountain bar. Available to you and your guests after your reception ends.

The Sitzmark Club is a classic ski bar located in the original building of the Lodge. During the summer months, it is closed to the public and available as a gathering place to get together with friends and family once your reception ends. After the close of your event, no alcohol will be served, but the Sitzmark is available to you as a private space to keep the party going. The Sitzmark Club is also available to be your bar location during your reception if you choose.

Our Lady of the Snows

Separate from Alta Lodge, rent OLS in-advance for an indoor ceremony.

Our mountain weather can be unpredictable. We recommend booking the Our Lady of the Snows chapel (OLS), located across the road from the Lodge entry, as a backup indoor ceremony space. OLS is also the perfect option for couples who want a more religious ceremony in a gorgeous mountain setting.

Misti and the Alta Lodge team were the best. From the moment we arrived, everything was simply perfect. The staff's attention to detail and genuine warmth made us feel like royalty. The breathtaking scenery of Utah's mountains served as a stunning backdrop for our special day. The food was a true masterpiece; each dish was a burst of flavors that delighted every palate. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the exceptional service and the overall magical atmosphere. Alta Lodge exceeded all our expectations and created memories that will be cherished forever. f you are wanting a dreamy intimate mountain wedding.. look no further. We had our wedding at Alta Lodge on 8.28.20 and it was honestly a dream come true. Nothing beats that mountain view! So stunning! I've never seen a prettier view of the mountains. The lodge is such a cute venue and nothing beats its original charm. It's truly unique! The staff makes you feel at home and we are so happy to join the Alta family now. Rosie showed us the lodge in the beginning and was really helpful to give us all of the information that we needed. Molly was our wedding coordinator that came with the venue and was seriously a lifesaver!! She helped us every step of the way and made sure things were going as planned and things turned out just as we envisioned. When COVID happened, they let us know all of the new protocols and we are so lucky we didn't have to postpone our wedding. They did everything they could to make sure our wedding was perfect.. even during a pandemic. Wedding planning during COVID is a nightmare for anyone, and when the world was suddenly flipped upsidedown Alta Lodge was there for us. We had 10000 questions about planning during a pandemic, and Molly took the time to meticulously answer every single one so we could be at ease. We are so grateful for the Alta staff for their dedication to make our day perfect despite these uncertain times. The food at our reception was amazing and the steak was the best I've ever had! We cut our guest list down to 43 and it felt like the perfect amount for the space. Everyone had such a great time and loved everything. It was so fun to take pictures in the mountains right after our ceremony. The patio was the perfect place for all of our wedding events. We loved being outside and the weather was perfect that time of year. We could go on and on about how much we love Alta.. in conclusion, we can't recommend them enough! (:

Alta Lodge is a perennial favorite with my couples because of the exceptional service, the rustic-modern charm that accompanies this historic family-run lodge at Alta, and the full-service wedding packages, including incredible food and in-house planners/coordinators. As a photographer who is lucky enough to photograph weddings at Alta Lodge several times a year, I also love it for several additional reasons. The communication from the wedding team is exceptional, as is the flexibility and easy-going vibe that accompanies it. The view from the ceremony space overlooking the ski resort is staggering, as are the nearby locations for quick-and-easy portraits with the couples. When couples book me but are still in the venue-hunting phase of wedding planning, I always add Alta Lodge to the recommendations. I love this place!

If you're looking for a cozy, beautifully placed mountain venue, Alta Lodge is your answer. The staff are absolutely wonderful to work with, the food is EXCELLENT, and the view is stunning.

Your reservation includes five hours from the event start to finish. Any additional time will be billed per hour, pro-rated from the facility fee. Set-up begins 2 hours prior to your start time. There is a 30-minute grace period to allow your guests to arrive on time to the venue before your ceremony begins.

- On-site wedding coordinator. - Fresh flower arrangements at the entry, lobby, dining tables, buffet service, and the guest book table. - Complimentary wedding night lodging for the couple in a romantic corner room. - Event set up and breakdown; all tables, chairs, china, silverware, glassware, and linens. - Two complimentary changing rooms for use during the day of your event.

All food and beverage is provided by Alta Lodge. We offer a wide selection of menu and dining options. Choose from a plated meal with table service, an elegant buffet, or a mountain cookout. Each dish is made in-house, using the freshest and finest ingredients. Meals are priced per person. Drinks are priced per drink and charged based on consumption. Tax and service are additional.

To book your date, a signed contract and deposit in the amount of the facility rental fee is required. In the event of cancellation, deposits are non-refundable. Payment in full of estimated charges is due ten days prior to the event. Final payment is due at the close of your event.

Our historic building is accessed by 59 stairs from the roadside to the lobby entrance. For guests who are unable to negotiate the stairs, guests are transported via four-wheel-drive vehicle to the lobby and patio levels. There is one wheelchair-accessible lodging room available. Some areas of the Lodge are not accessible by wheelchair from the lobby and we do not have an escalator or elevator.

Everything associated with your dining and beverage service is included with the facility rental fee. We offer white on white tablecloths and napkins. Set up and break down of standard ceremony and reception services are included in the facility rental fee.

Alta Lodge features 44 guest rooms with mountain views. Sunday through Wednesday night lodging rates include continental breakfast. Thursday and Friday night lodging rates include hot breakfast buffet. Saturday night rates include Sunday brunch. A block of up to 20 lodging rooms can be held as a courtesy for your guests the night of your event for non-exclusive bookings. All lodging rooms are blocked for exclusive bookings.

Pets are not allowed at the Lodge. Dogs are not allowed in Alta or anywhere in Little Cottonwood Canyon because the area is a protected watershed. People bringing unlicensed animals into Alta are subject to citations and fines. Please visit the Town of Alta’s website for more information. We do accommodate service dogs that guide or perform a task for a person with a disability.

With the exception of wedding cakes, we do not allow meals or food to be catered by an outside supplier. If you are interested in something we do not offer, please inquire.

No. All alcoholic beverages must be selected from our menu and served by our staff. In certain cases, special orders can be made with a $150 service fee per special order item.

Free overnight parking is available in public, uncovered areas near the entrance to Alta Lodge.

Alta Lodge is only 32 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport, about 45 minutes via car or airport shuttle.
