  • Sweet but totally out of her depth

    We worked with Abby for 18-months in planning our wedding. During the process, she seemed sweet and hardworking even if she had no idea about budgets (pushed for us to spend 1/3 of our total budget on lighting for example). On our wedding day, however, Abby was totally out of her depth. When we arrived 45-minutes before our ceremony, the welcome signs weren’t up, the arch wasn’t set up, readings weren’t printed, and the table wasn’t set. She’d arrived 5 hours earlier, and we have no idea what she’d been up to. At no point did she reach out asking for help or family reinforcements. So much of what we’d planned just never got put up even though the groom, wedding party, and family went into overdrive trying to make up for Abby. After the ceremony, she was no where to be found, and she didn’t get the bar open until 30 minutes into our cocktail hour. Our dinner service then was super slow because Abby used an outdated seating chart. At points we were running an hour behind schedule. The incompetence on display throughout the evening from setup to our sparkler exit was honestly stunning. We don’t like writing negative reviews, but we feel obliged to try to save other couples from the stress Abby put us through. Also, heads up, some of the glowing reviews on here are written by people in the wedding industry (including one of our vendors) masquerading as former clients and the majority of the experience she claims came from her work in jr high and high school.

    We’re so glad that we ended up using Aventz Co for our month of coordination. Abby was a life saver. She thought of a lot of the details we weren’t considering and gave us good advice based on her experience. Having her at our rehearsal and wedding gave us peace of mind and we were able to enjoy ourselves more because we knew she had things handled! I’ll never forget that Abby quite literally ran back to our hotel to get socks that I needed for a certain pair of shoes. She is quick! Don’t hesitate to consider signing on with Aventz Co. if you are looking for a coordinator.

    When I was looking for an event planner, and came across Abby, I knew it was the perfect choice after our first conversation. Abby put my mind at ease, and helped put my vision in order. Her eye, her talent, her listening skills all came together. She is organized, detail oriented, and just an excellent planner.

    A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to DJ a wedding and Abby, owner of Aventz Co. was the wedding coordinator. Having worked with many coordinators over the past six years, Abby was hands down, the best I have ever worked with. Our correspondences began months before the wedding. Abby reached out to me to introduce herself and discussed the details of the wedding, what the bride and groom wanted, and presented a preliminary timeline. When changes occurred, Abby notified me immediately. A week before the wedding, Abby sent out a incredibly detailed list of the days events to all the vendors. The attachments included 4, multiple page outlines and diagrams of the ceremony set up, pictures of the park layout, the guest seating chart (as well as each meal selection), and even a video showing a map of the area while providing commentary of the schedule for the day. I was impressed by her attention to detail and commitment to excellence. During the wedding, Abby was everywhere, given directions, helping with plating, and making sure everything was perfect. She is hands down, the best coordinator I have worked with and will certainly be referring her to all my future clients.
