Wedding and family photography that is romantic, candid, and moody. Sessions for carefree people that hate forced smiles and want to feel more like they are on a fun date instead of at a photoshoot. I am passionate about documentary-style photography and capturing special moments for families and couples. My biggest goal is to capture photos that feel natural and true to the people I serve all while giving them a fun experience.
Inspired by my children, I began my photo journey by documenting my kid's everyday moments that I didn't want to forget. Years pass so quickly and kids change so much in a short time. I love that through photos I am able to remember all the small details, interests, and quirks of my family at different ages and I love being able to capture those same things for others through my photography.

From the moment we first reached out to Vanessa Martin Photography, we were impressed by her open communication style, quick responses, and kind demeanor. The quality of her work was truly amazing - they captured every special moment of our wedding day in the most creative and priceless way. Vanessa and her team were available to us at every step, ensuring we got all the shots we wanted. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable throughout the entire process, allowing us to simply enjoy our special day without worrying about the photography. I could not have asked for a better photographer for my wedding than Vanessa! She was a pleasure to work with before, during, and after the big day. When my husband and I were first assessing photographers for our wedding, Vanessa's work jumped out at us as stunning and unique, but with a classic, timeless look that suited our personalties well. (Also, she's incredibly affordable for the high quality of service you receive.) When we reached out, Vanessa was warm and communicative, and she immediately scheduled a Zoom call for us to go over what was important and unique to our wedding that we wanted to focus on. Vanessa struck the perfect balance between inquisitive, yet never overbearing. She was also incredibly flexible - we were traveling from outside the area and could not do an engagement shoot, so Vanessa offered to photograph our rehearsal dinner instead! It was a great decision that resulted in lovely casual photos with our closest family and friends. On the day of our wedding, Vanessa and her awesome second photographer, Tara, were calm and professional, but quick to put my nervous self at ease. The two of them were incredibly astute, picking up on little details about the day that we might not have thought to focus on. For example, Vanessa gushed about a tree in bloom that was right down the street from our venue, and taking pictures in front of it resulted in some of the best shots from the day. Tara also noted that my husband was playing guitar to calm his nerves before the ceremony, and Vanessa suggested taking some "blue hour" portraits with him serenading me. This was by far one of the high points of the day and I LOVE that they highlighted what was important to us. Vanessa's attention to detail is one of those qualities that sets her apart. Additionally, Vanessa handles situational stress with ease. During posed shots before the ceremony, we had an awkward situation with a guest, and Vanessa saw my scrunched-up face and was instantly at my side offering me multiple options for how she could deal with the situation. She single-handedly took the situation off my plate, and I knew in that moment I was in good hands. When we got our pictures back - WOW. They are truly stunning and exactly what we were looking for in wedding pictures. Vanessa's subtle, warm, yet slightly moody editing made for some amazing shots of our day. Our pictures stand apart from all other wedding shots we've seen, in the best way possible. My only problem now is narrowing down the ones I want to print! We were and continue to be absolutely thrilled with Vanessa's professionalism, expertise, and warmth. Do yourself a favor and hire her for your special event.

Not only a wonderful, warm human, Vanessa takes the most stunning photos imaginable. We have received endless compliments and can't stop looking at her pictures! I can't imagine anyone better to have been part of our wedding day.

Vanessa was our best investment throughout all of our wedding planning. We booked her early in our two year engagement and throughout the whole process she blew us away. Our engagement pictures were so good that we didn’t know how we managed to snag such a talented photographer. She was so easy to work with and made us feel so comfortable behind the camera. We ended up booking the 6 hour package with a second shooter add-on and Vanessa and her second shooter, Tara were such joys to have on the big day. So many people came up to me to tell me how nice and great they are. We were actually sad that the wedding was over because it meant it was the end of working with them! Vanessa got every single shot we needed, did an amazing job of keeping us on schedule, rounding up family members efficiently for group shots and making taking portraits a breeze on such a hectic day. She also delivered FIFTY (!!!) sneak peaks within 24 hours. Her work is impeccable, I’m extremely grateful and I would recommend her to anybody and everybody!
