I began my photo career in the commercial world. I photographed for many ad agencies, fashion clients and magazines. When I segued into the wedding world, I brought that style of fashion photography and lighting with me.

I truly feel that relationships are key to excellent photos. My clients become my friends, leading up to, during, and after their weddings. I don't ever want to work with a couple that refers to me as their photographer. I want them to drop the formal vendor/client wall. I'm just John and we are gonna have fun. I promise.

John is the best there is in the Philadelphia area when it comes to wedding photographers. He always arrives with a plan, is decisive, creative and fun to be around. Our team (Tag Visual filmmakers) never hesitates to refer him to couples and wedding days always go smoother when we work with him. He gets our highest recommendation for sure!

Our wedding was in January of this year and we couldn't be happier with our wedding photos, thanks to John and his incredible team! From our first meeting to our wedding day, John made us feel at ease and captured every moment beautifully. His ability to blend into the background while getting stunning, natural shots is truly amazing. The photos perfectly reflect the love and joy of our day. I can’t say enough good things about John! From our first meeting, I knew he was the perfect fit for my husband and me. He’s blunt and to the point but still welcoming and fun. With his years of experience, he had clear vision for what needed to be done and when. He even helped us put together a photo schedule leading up to the wedding. On the big day, our family portraits were done quickly and smoothly, and the bridal party shots were a blast! The portraits of my husband and me felt so intimate and really captured our love. We ran ahead of schedule with all of our photos and we only used between 10-15 minutes of cocktail hour time to capture a few extra couple portraits. Our guests loved the black-and-white portrait booth. John set up a QR code for them to easily access the gallery, which was super helpful for us! I can’t recommend John enough—he and his team were absolutely amazing!

We had the absolute pleasure of working with John Barone as our wedding photographer back in September, and we couldn't be happier with the experience and results! My husband, David, and I got married in Philadelphia, and John captured every moment beautifully. From the bridal photos (which I initially didn't want but am now so grateful for) to our intimate ceremony, stunning portraits throughout Philadelphia, and our reception in Lafayette Hill, John’s expertise shone through every step of the way. John was incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and responsive. From the very beginning, he provided clear direction and guided us seamlessly through the process. Honestly, what’s the point of hiring a professional if you’re not going to lean on their experience? He helped guide us to get photos that truly worked and captured our day perfectly. His pricing was reasonable, but the quality of his work was priceless. The photos are nothing short of outstanding—truly works of art (of course we think so...they are our wedding photos afterall). We’ve found ourselves speechless looking at them. The only thing we’d change? We wish we’d had John photograph our second celebration in South Carolina as well!
