I'm Angelica, the owner of Dawnpoint Studios! I'm an adventurous and internationally requested wedding/elopement photographer with a focus on sustainability! Here's an unexpected fact - I hated weddings when I first started second shooting them. It broke my heart to see couples being rushed, overwhelmed, and not truly having any connection to couples. That's what drove my passion to breath a fresh air into the wedding experience! Plan with intention, focus on being present, and building genuine relationships with couples! You should be heard, appreciated, and understood. You should feel encouraged to get married your way.

We are here to document, not direct. Dawnpoint Studios focuses on intentionally shooting, keeping couples present, and being there for you - more than as a photographer, but as a friend. We want to get to know you during engagement sessions, help plan out your timeline so the day runs smooth, and be a shoulder for you to lean on. Whether it's calming you down or hyping you up - our goal is that you soak in all the golden moments. In honor of every couple that books Dawnpoint Studios, we plant 10 trees in your name. Environmentalism has always been pivotal to Dawnpoint's business model. From local clean ups, volunteering and donating.

    Angelica was quick and easy to communicate with. She captured all of the emotion of the day with a lot of real and candid shots. She was SO fast with getting all the photos back to us. It felt like there was just another friend there.

    If I could give one billion stars I would. Angelica was the best part of my entire wedding. I'm going to break it down: 1. She was so beyond personable and made me, my husband, and every single guest feel comfortable. She seamlessly fit in and by the end of the night, my guests were begging her to stay and hang out with us. 2. She understood my vision completely. She recreated my inspirations from Pinterest and brought them to life... and then some. I explained to her that our primary objective was not posed photos (however, she did those as well) but to capture the moments during the course of the day that I wouldn't be able to be present for. She captured the tears, the laughter, the dancing and the overall essence of our party. We did not hire a videographer and it didn't matter based on the photos Angelica took for us. 3. She provided a free session prior to the date of the wedding so we weren't meeting for the first time on the actual day. I requested that she travel from New Jersey to Queens to be there when my husband and I got legally married at the courthouse. She captured all the little moments that I wanted and ended up being a member of the family by the end of it! This was five days before our wedding celebration and she got us these courthouse photos THE NEXT DAY. Because she got us those photos so quickly, I was able to incorporate them FIVE DAYS LATER at my wedding reception. There is not enough I can say to express how not only incredibly talented she is, but also how she was just an absolute joy to work with. BOOK HER FOR YOUR WEDDING RIGHT NOW.     I don't even know where to START!!!! This gal immediately became part of the crew from the first photos with the bridesmaids to the end of the night rager! Angelica and her second shooter were both incredible start to finish. Great at going with the flow but also making sure to get those photos that I had on my shot list (no matter how hard everyone was making that haha!) She had the best energy that helped me not feel nervous at all and honestly empowered from the start. She got so many amazing details that we are literally having a viewing party with all of our local guests because we just cannot choose which photos to post. I chose her because her photos and galleries all looked so different but one common theme was everyone looked like they were 1. having fun and 2. being themselves. Personally posed photos aren't for me. So when I saw her galleries I knew I wanted her above all other photographers. And I had a chart of 21 that I researched but after my first meeting with her I was sold. I chose three photos for this review- one of her capturing the insanity of our hair at the reception, Angelica being a part of the crew (my dad mentioned 3 times how great she was and how much he loved her and the second shooter) and the one where she truly shows her style of capturing natural excitement in the people and world around her.

    Read for my true heartfelt experience with Angelica at Dawnpoint, but in short - hire her. This should be the easiest decision you make in your wedding planning journey. I came across Dawnpoint after she documented the wedding of someone I know. Those pictures felt so authentic and real. They took me right to the event and made me feel so much. I knew I needed to meet her. From my initial zoom meeting with Angelica, we hit it off. I said I wanted to get the best views in our pictures. She was on board right away. For our engagement pictures, she took us on a hike. Chris and I showed up in hiking gear with our formal wear in our packs. So did Angelica. This may seem so minuscule but for two people who had never been photographed and just wanted someone to make them feel comfortable and to capture something real, this made us trust her from the get go. Needless to say, those pictures were amazing. We even used them for our save the dates! Fast forward to our wedding day in Lake Placid on June 15, 2024. My goals were ambitious but Angelica was on board every step of the way. From creating the timeline to executing the plan the day of, it was the least stressful part of our day. What I loved most was that she listened to my vision and incorporated it in everything she did that day. I even forgot that I wanted a specific picture of my dress, but she definitely did not. When I was getting ready, she had my bridal party share personal stories of us and it was so sweet, I felt so connected to the people closest to me that day and it helped me stay grounded and present from the beginning. For our first look, we wanted to meet at the top of Whiteface Mountain. This was 40 minutes away from our venue and logistically a lot of things could go wrong. Yet, Angelica was a smiling face reassuring me that we could do it. Everything from asking for us to skip the elevator line, to clearing the space on Whiteface for Chris and I to get our moment. I was and remain truly speechless of how she actually made this happen. The pictures speak for themselves. After, we returned to our venue and without delay resumed with a first look with my dad (which I added last minute and was meeted with so much excitement from Angelica). One of my favorite parts was golden hour pictures. I take zero credit here. This was Angelica’s idea and I am so thankful. It was a truly beautiful and authentic experience to photograph the newly wed joy I felt. This is just one of so many ways in which Angelica showed that she was as present and invested in our day as we were. After receiving my sneak preview pictures, I was honestly met with so much emotion. I was brought right back to each moment and exactly how I was feeling. I am truly blown away because if anyone can get a picture to tell a thousand words, it is Angelica. She perfectly captured our day and was the single most best decision I made that day. Unsolicited feedback from my guests: “Your photographer smiled the entire night! She looked like she was having so much fun!” This was feedback I got multiple times and it goes to show much Angelica loves her job! P.S. Jake, her second shooter, was also an absolute pleasure. Together, their energy was infectious.
