Hello! Mekai here. Welcome to Sparks + Sand Floral Design! •••To start off I’d just like to say thank you. Even if you’re just checking the page out. Thank you! •• I’m here to enhance your events with florals that reflect you best! I was born and raised in Palm Springs, California and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina a little over a year ago now. I am a one-woman team when it comes to my business, but I'm also a fiance and step-mom to two rad kids and I am the happiest I've ever been. I would love nothing more than to connect with you and help you reach your flower dreams!!

I love to collaborate with every client to create florals that connect with you and the experience you are working to convey. Included in my pricing is as many calls, emails, venue walkthroughs, and meetings as you'd like! I am here to work with you and support you along your planning as best as I can. With your inquiries, I will create a custom quote, design inspiration board, and some flower ideas for the florals that would be available for your date!

    We have had sparks and sand at Lucky Star Ranch multiple times and she has been great every time. We are a small family ranch venue in the middle of the desert and she is always more than happy to help where she can even if it has nothing to do with her flowers. I've never seen a disappointed client or staff member after chatting with her. Mekai works really hard to make sure everyone is happy and will go above and beyond. We're always happy to see Sparks and Sand is coming back.

    This review is long overdue for my October 2021 wedding! We hired Sparks and Sand and I could not have been happier with how the florals turned out for my wedding. The process of planning was so stressful and we had to postpone from our original 2020 date. However, Mekai was a DREAM to work with. She was so helpful and responsive to all of my questions and quote changes. We had some last minute changes to the quote but she handled everything with ease. The florals were GORGEOUS and I could not have been happier. I literally teared up when they arrived to our Airbnb. They were everything I could have ever asked for. She understood fully what I was going for with just a few inspiration pictures. Everything was so easy and the florals were arranged beautifully at the venue. I'm so happy that I booked Mekai!

    Mekai did the florals for my Feb 2023 wedding and I seriously cannot even begin to explain how amazing she was! Actually blew my expectations out of the water. When I saw what she had created the morning of our wedding she actually took my breath away. She took my vision I gave her and made something more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! I live in New York City and honestly, I was struggling for awhile to try to try to find a florist out of Palm Springs that just "gets it". Sometimes I find traditional florists to be a bit boring, stale, repetitive, or way over the top. The other florists out of palm springs felt a little too old school for me or were completely out of my budget. I really wanted something modern and artistic, yet playful, natural and fun. Mekai is a true artist! Not only is her work so beautiful, but she is also the sweetest person ever and a dream to work with! Super responsive and really takes the time to understand your vision. I know as a bride, it can feel a little risky to book a vendor with a smaller amount of reviews, but Mekai is so worth it! Mekai also has a lot lower minimums than a lot of other floral vendors in the area and is extremely affordable which I have never heard any of my friends who have gotten married say about their florals! Mekai's work is such a steal for the impact that she will make on your space and in all of your photos! Seriously run, don't walk, to book! I'm telling you, you will not regret it in the slightest.
