    Overall, GG was good. The food was delicious and my guests were happy! My husband and I had someone taking care of us all night. My guests raved about how great the food was, which was so great to hear! There were little things here and there that were disappointing to me, and I think that GG is far too experienced and honestly too expensive to be making the mistakes they made over what I think are simple things. A few examples: - Despite being very experienced at my venue (Harkness), they were setting up for dinner well into cocktail hour, which was visible to my guests. I had been under the impression that they had the set up process down and were very time efficient. I did not find this to be the case. Additionally, it took them 30 mins to get dinner out after guests took a seat and ate the pre set salads. - One of the biggest things I stressed from the very beginning was some very serious food allergies, which I communicated via email, phone call, the program they used for seating, AND I indicated them on place cards. Despite this, guests with allergies were given food that contained the very clearly communicated allergens. - They didn’t put out the seating chart until I reminded them to, which had my guests going from seat to seat reading each place card to find where they were sitting. The GG staff then scolded some of my guests who were walking around looking at place cards to find out where they’d be sitting. - They didn’t hand out champagne to my bridal party, parents, or my husband and I during the champagne toast. As the bride and groom, we had to ask for champagne. - There were requests given to them that either they miscommunicated to our venue staff, or didn’t correct the venue staff when they were executed incorrectly. - They did not check in with me about seating layouts until 2.5 weeks before, and it ended up changing my entire layout and seating chart, which had already been ordered. I felt that I had to come up with a solution with no real guidance from GG, and was met with “sorry, that won’t work” rather than being given tangible information to come up with a solution. Even if it were just a couple of the above things that went wrong, I’d likely have given GG 5 stars. However, when my guests notice that things are off and it negatively impacts the flow of the evening, it says something. These little mistakes add up, and I expected a caterer with as many awards, recognition and experience as GG to be a bit more on top of things. If I could do it all over, I would have hired a wedding planner from the start, which isn’t necessarily due to GG as much as it’s due to the type of venues they cater in, where you are coordinating with so many different vendors. I think that having an experienced wedding planner working alongside GG would have mitigated all of these things, and if my venue hadn’t gone through all the staffing changes they did, things would have gone smoother, as well. I don’t necessarily blame GG entirely for the above mishaps I listed. In some ways I think we had an unfortunate “perfect storm” of vendor mishaps that GG was caught in the middle of. Overall, the food was delicious and my guests were happy, and that’s the main goal! It’s not like they ruined our day by any means, but it was a bit more stressful for me during the actual wedding than I anticipated. We still had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food and drinks, regardless!

    We had a fantastic experience with Gourmet Galley Catering for our wedding. Their communication throughout the planning process was responsive, helpful and explanatory - they patiently answered all our questions and made helpful recommendations. On the big day, they went above and beyond to make sure we and all our guests were well-fed and hydrated amidst the busyness. The quality and taste of the food was fantastic - all our guests raved about it! Everything was delicious, well-presented, and clearly made from quality ingredients. We received so many compliments on the food. Gourmet Galley's exceptional service and delicious offerings were a huge contribution to making our wedding day special and memorable. We highly recommend them for any catering needs!
