Tahoe Wedding Violinist

Born in Hanover, NH, Ellen began studying the violin at 6 years old. She attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where she earned an Anthropology degree and won the Middlebury College Concerto Competition in 2009. She also had the opportunity to record with a tango band while studying abroad in Buenos Aires. In 2010, Ellen moved west to study at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. There, she earned a Master of Music in violin performance and gave two solo recitals. She was a member of a gypsy folk band that played throughout San Francisco.

Since graduating, Ellen has been performing all over California, Nevada, and Vermont with many different orchestras and ensembles, including the Mendocino Music Festival Orchestra, the Monterey Symphony, and the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival. Ellen now lives in Truckee, CA where she is a violinist with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and the fiddle player in a local bluegrass band called the Lost Whiskey Engine. Ellen's mission is to spread her love of music as wide and deep as possible through teaching and live performance.
