Q: What do you wear?

I like to look professional so for weddings I typically a black or blue suit. However, if the couple has a theme or more laid back wedding, I'll gladly match to blend with their style.

Q: Do you play new songs?

Absolutely! I try and keep up with the latest trending music of all genres. During my consultation, I always make sure to understand a couple's musical preferences and must play songs. Along with keeping up with current hits, I have a massive catalogue of the classics that will get your guests up and dancing. All the best songs of each decade from the 1950s to 70's disco classics, 90's boy bands, and into today's current favorites.

Q: Do you take music requests?

Of course! However, I always discuss ahead of time with the couple if they want me to or not. I've had couples all for only requests from the wedding party or only from the couple. I want to make the night one you love, so if I can enhance it by taking a request I will! But, I'll also make sure to ignore requests that might kill the vibe even if that one guest who has had a little too much to drink is begging for it!

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Yes! I have an extra set of equipment that can be used for the ceremony if it is at a separate location, including wireless microphones and stands. Same for a cocktail reception that may be outdoors or in a separate location adjacent to the main room and dance floor. There is an extra fee for these services.

My daughter was getting married in another state than the one I live in, and in the same year to boot! Because of having to finance two weddings in the same year, we did not want to spend an arm and a leg to do so. I asked the DJ I booked for my wedding if he knew anyone in Michigan that could handle my daughter's wedding, and he referred me to DJ J. Boone. I had talked to a handful of vendors before, and I came to the realization that the lower the price for the service, the worst service I received. I found a happy medium with J Boone's services.. He was priced fairly, and I was genuinely surprised at how much effort he put in to go above and beyond everything that was asked of him. He communicated clearly the whole time, made our needs important, and of course on the big day, delivered what was asked of him. And more! Our entire family was extremely impressed with his service.

I have known Jake since before he started DJing, and I have to say that if I were to ever personally need a DJ for my wedding… this would be the guy I reach out to. I have seen first hand how he deals with his clients, and other vendors could learn something from the way he takes time to learn as much as possible about your event, stays in contact as much or as little as you need, and always comes through with everything his couples need, and more.
