“Where to begin? I imagine if you are reading this section you are looking to see how the experience other couples had with JTR Media was and if you should consider hiring them. Well here is the short answer from one couple that had the pleasure of getting to work with Josh and Taylor for our wedding… absolutely yes! Josh and Taylor did the photography and videography for our March 2023 Disney Wedding. From the initial discussions of planning to the day of execution, JTR were very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. We originally were planning to work with Disney but due to the lack of knowledge of which photographer you could get until a couple of weeks out, we elected to go with a more sure thing and personal touch. We had a bunch of things Disney was covering and looking back at all the wedding choices, we are so glad we got JTR to cover our wedding. What separates them? Well I can’t speak for every couple’s experience but from Day 1 they made it about us. They listened to what images we absolutely needed, provided suggestions for other locations or experiences we could do, and engaged with us through the Disney planning process to make sure everything Day of was out of the bride and groom’s hands and under control. They had a great questionnaire that was thorough and helped establish a foundation for the picture catalog. Getting the images back, well that’s just as great as working with them. Wow! We constantly get compliments on how the images capture the spirit of the moment. You see such amazing emotions from all of our wedding guests at different stages of the wedding! The turn around time was great and accessing the images and video is a breeze. So if you made it to the end of this review my hats off to you but I wanted to elaborate on the experience because it is an anxious decision about selecting wedding vendors. “Working with Jen was the best experience and we feel so lucky to be a part of her absolute ART. I (bride) was struggling looking for a photographer and asked my cousin (bridesmaid), a photographer herself, for help. She got to work and when she sent me Jen’s website, she said, “All of the images are gorgeous.” I had an inkling we were on to something as I filled out Jen’s very thoughtful inquiry form. Her response had such genuine and positive energy, and the rest is history! Because we are based in Brooklyn, we considered passing on the included engagement session but, to use Jen’s words, she “respectfully insisted” on coming to Brooklyn. My groom was explicitly comfortable having his photo taken, but quickly warmed up to the idea. Jen collaborated so thoughtfully with us and we chose a few locations meaningful to us as well as some classic shots on the Brooklyn Bridge. It was probably one of my favorite “dates” ever and Jen was the perfect third wheel. We even asked her along to our weekly Drag Bingo ritual after. The photos themselves (no surprise!) were incredible. We loved them and so did everyone else! They were personal and beautiful and cool, and we had a blast. I frequently commented over the course of wedding planning that the one thing we weren’t worried about was photography. We even used engagement photos as decor at the wedding and on matchbox favors! Jen was so supportive and interactive with us, both formally (more thoughtful forms!) and informally (little check-ins and chats over text/DM). We experienced a few challenges with our wedding venue over the course of planning, but there was so much comfort in knowing that besides enjoying a day with our people, we would have fantastic pictures because of Jen! We did first look and some of our photos before the ceremony and Jen got us in the groove for sure. It was really grounding to have that time together and just be able to trust fully that Jen would capture and deliver our dream photographs. Jen is a total pro and helped keep us to the schedule, but also kept us relaxed and enjoying the time. We were honestly sad to say goodbye at the end of the night, but she has a standing invite to Brooklyn. She sent us a few pictures just hours after the reception and a full sneak peek in under a week. We are, of course, THRILLED with the photos. We will treasure these captured moments forever!! We look forward to enthusiastically recommending Jen at every opportunity. We will always be grateful to have worked with such a talented, dedicated, thoughtful photographer who is also just a really good time. I could go on and on, but TLDR: Book Jennifer Syl Photography yesterday. We love you, Jen!!”
