I’m Megan Thompson, and I am the gal behind the camera at Meganography! I’ve always had a passion for photography, ever since I was a wee little one! When I was approx. 4 years old, my Grandma would let me use her camera to take pictures of my dolls (lol)! I've owned Meganography since 2016, and I've been photographing love since 2017. I am a fine art wedding photographer and wedding planner, wife, and mother to our three sweet babies! I first fell in love with photography at an early age. I became very inspired watching my father photograph weddings and capturing the authentic joy on his clients best day. It was then that I fell in love with the concept of love and knew what I wanted to do. I went on to film photography in high school and digital photography in college. After college I started a job as a party coordinator. I did this for years. Then, on blind faith started my own journey into the world of photography and wedding planning!

The rawness of emotion & human connection is what drew me into wedding and portrait photography. I am a storyteller and celebrater for the lighthearted and crazy in love. I focus on capturing authentic photographs that stand the test of time. My goal is to provide couples with one heck of an experience and images that can be cherished for a generations. One of my favorite facts about my style is that I created my own preset from scratch, and that each photo receives the dedicated time it takes to ensure that its final version is its best. The result is beautiful, sentimental photos that preserve meaningful and true-to-life moments.

In 2019, we started filming weddings for couples in 2023, we decided it was time to make it official! Storytelling, and telling your love story, is what we love to do. In the past (roughly) five years, we’ve had the opportunity to document close to 100 weddings. When it comes to photographing your wedding, I take a mixed approach of being a "fly on the wall" and guiding when appropriate. Lots of times my couples see their galleries and noticed things they had no clue even happened during the day. Candids and true documentary style photographs are what I strive to provide, as well as traditional photographs and poses.

I am a fine art photographer living in the United States. I am currently based in Florida and have a studio in Tampa, FL. I was born in Cuba but moved to Orlando with my large family in '97. I started my photography in 2015 but have been involved with being on both sides of the lens and learning photography since 2011. I have studied fine art photography long before I ever started taking portraits of other people and shooting weddings. Fine art photography was my beginning, creating conceptual and authentic art that spoke to me and told my story was what I started with and then I started blurring that line between fine art and documentary. I started documenting other people and their lives in the same way that I created my own work intended for shows and galleries. That is how I came to the style that I shoot now, still blending the two parts of my life.
