Revolution Summer Photography

5.0

  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,375
  • Serves Thomaston, ME

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We all innately know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation.

Awarded Best of Zola
Corey took incredible photos of our day, and we couldn't be more grateful. He really put us at ease, was personable with us and our guests, and was great at keeping us on schedule once we got into the thick of the celebrations. I would describe Corey's photography style as documentary, which was perfect for us, because we didn't want our photos to look too choreographed. His shots look really organic, and we appreciate that he stayed true to the vibe of our day. We will remember our wedding even more clearly because Corey's shots captured the action, and are not just an album of posed 'moments'. Really the photos speak for themselves, but we can't recommend him enough!

NOT YOUR AVERAGE FLORIST/ FLORAL ARTIST Beyond blown away by the florals Stacy prepared for our spring wedding. From meeting with her and her daughter at her picturesque farm in Belmont to the day of the wedding - She went above and beyond creating everything from stunning ceremony installations to flowing centerpieces that differed from table to table. I can say hands down our florals are what made our wedding so visually striking. She doesn't miss a beat, drawing inspiration from the bride and grooms ensembles and color palette - she nailed the aesthetic we were hoping for. In fact, we loved the flowers so much - I collected every flower she utilized to take home to dry and preserve. I cannot wait to share the photos our photographer got of her work with her and her team. We truly cannot thank you enough - you are an incredibly talented artist and we will remember the beauty of our special day forever 3

It is hard to put into words how special this venue is. My husband and I toured the property with Emerald back in November 2022 and instantly fell in love with it -- it was the second venue we saw, and we didn't see any others after. There was something about Emerald's genuine care for the space and for the couples that she worked with that really stood out to us. She has a deep connection to the property and we watched her build it up into the masterpiece it is today. We got married in May 2024, and it was truly the best day of our lives. The view, the ceremony space, the reception tent, the getting-ready areas -- all of it was so full of charm and so stunningly beautiful. Our wedding party stayed in the four cabins and we stayed in the adorable honeymoon suite. When we arrived for our wedding weekend, we looked at the view and made a vow to return to this place when we could. We were able to use a golf cart to transport decorations (and people) around the property, which was a life safer! In addition to the spectacular setting, Emerald's commitment is unmatched. She communicated with us consistently throughout the 1.5 years we spent planning and answered all of our (many, many) questions promptly. She sent us little gifts, solicited feedback from us about new property changes, and connected us with other amazing vendors. Her husband Kurt was also incredibly kind and so helpful on our wedding day. Bonus: their kids are adorable!! Penobscot Bay Estate is truly a magical place and was the perfect space for us to begin our lives together. Pro tip: use the honeymoon tub! it was so fun!!

Peter Logue Photography

5.0

  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Thomaston, ME

I take an authentic and cinematic approach to wedding photography. I love to watch life unfold and seek to capture the quiet moments of the day; the moments that slip past in an instant but are the ones that you want to remember forever. I am passionate about creating timeless and lasting photographs for you and your family.

Peter is the best!!! We first met Peter while he was shooting a promotional video for Medomak Family Camp in Washington, Maine, and that video was gorgeous, so when we needed a photographer for our elopement in Acadia, Peter was the obvious choice. My husband and I had never taken professional pictures before, but Peter made us feel so comfortable and at ease through the whole process. He guided us through each location and pose suggestion like he had a great vision, and when we got the pictures back, we knew he definitely did! Our pictures were beautifully and skillfully edited and we will cherish them literally forever. Thank you, Peter!!!

The 1812 Farm

5.0

Bristol, ME
  • Venue
  • Up to 130 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $7,000

The 1812 Farm is a year round setting for your event. Our unique mix of historic setting and unmatched level of catering quality, elegant surroundings and appointments appeals to the most discerning taste

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Dressing room available

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
Let me start by saying that having our wedding reception at the 1812 Farm was something I had dreamed of for 18 years, since I was only 10. My family and I would visit the Pemaquid Lighthouse every year growing up, and every year I would point out the car window and say “That’s where I want to have a wedding reception after getting married at the lighthouse!” Little did I know, I would eventually have that exact dream come true. My now husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at the 1812 Farm in September. From day one, the communication between us and the owners and event coordinator Olivia was punctual and incredibly helpful. From the thorough initial tour, to the food tasting where we were made to feel like royalty, to Olivia’s continual help with planning and the ultimate picture perfect wedding day, we were beyond pleased. Wedding planning would have been far more stressful without the calls with Olivia, a detailed shared Google document, and the fun 3D modeling software for the venue table setup. The catering was excellent- the food was delicious with perfectly tender meat and paired seasonings/sauces. The servers and bartenders were professional and friendly. The first thing that struck me on the wedding day was how gorgeous the grounds were, with a multitude of flowers and perfectly manicured lawns even towards the end of the summer! I also cannot say enough good things about their bridal suite. Getting ready in such a comfortable place with my loved ones was unexpectedly one of my favorite times of that day. The Farm also coordinated with our bluegrass band and other vendors efficiently to ensure the day went flawlessly. Thank you, the 1812 Farm, for helping us host a beautiful, classy, country wedding that couldn’t have been more perfect.

I cannot say enough about this incredible venue. From the beautiful property, to the attentive and friendly staff, Newagen made our entire wedding weekend smooth and seamless. Newagen offers all the charm of a small quaint Maine Inn with the delivery and professionalism of a large well run venue. Maura was amazing and responsive with the booking of the venue and sales process. She was so responsive in answering all my questions and helping us navigate putting the weekend structure together. The reins were smoothly handed over to Tiffany as the weekend got closer and she ensured everything ran smoothly through the weekend. We held a lobster bake Friday evening, ceremony and reception Saturday and a farewell breakfast Sunday morning. Every single aspect was flawless. Tiffany and her team kept things running on time, making sure everything I brought (decorations and the like) was put out so that my husband and I could just spend time with friends and family. It felt that every time I had a concern or a question, I could ask Tiffany and she'd have already thought of it/handled it. I truly cannot say enough about how amazing the staff was. From the front desk staff, managers, coordinators to the waiters, everyone made us and our guests feel at home, taken care of and special. My husband and I will definitely be returning to celebrate anniversaries and will recommend this venue to anyone. The property has so much to offer guests (pool, pickle ball, sunset path) and is not far from the cute downtown harbor and local sites like the coastal Maine botanical gardens. The chef was fantastic and the food was delicious. Highly recommend going to their pub for a bite if you are in the area and are considering this venue.

Every Other Sunday

5.0

  • Band or Ensemble
  • Starts at $4,800
  • Serves Thomaston, ME

Every Other Sunday is a versatile, nine-piece dance band from Maine. Specializing in wedding receptions and other functions. We pride ourselves on providing just the right mix of music to keep your guests entertained and dancing all night long. We can also provide traditional or modern ceremony and cocktail hour music. We customize each set with the perfect blend of rock, pop, funk, country and more. We also bring along our professional sound man to make sure the music is always at the perfect level. Want to chat over the music during cocktail hour but dance to some rockin' tunes during the reception? We've got you covered!

We recommend Every Other Sunday without hesitation. Tori and Mike performed as a duo during our ceremony and cocktail hour, learning specific songs for our ceremony. They sang so beautifully during our processional and recessional that there was not a dry eye in the house! Then the band grew to six members for our first dances, and the band learned two songs for those - perfectly executed. For the after dinner portion of our celebration, the band rocked out to variety of contemporary and classic dance tunes. They had the whole place jumping – literally, some of our guests were swinging from the beams…everyone had so much fun! Every Other Sunday is an extremely talented and versatile wedding band. Mike and Tori were easygoing and flexible yet very responsive to our email communications. They arrived super early the day of our wedding to get set up and everything they did was executed flawlessly. On a scale of one to 10, we give them a 10! You will be making a big mistake if you don’t consider Every Other Sunday for your wedding or special event. - Matt and Lou

Clockwork

5.0

  • Band or Ensemble
  • Serves Thomaston, ME

Congratulations! You're probably recently engaged, or you know someone who is, and you're looking for a killer band for your once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Clockwork will make your wedding truly spectacular. Not only will all of your friends and family be on the dance floor the entire night, but you will be showered with compliments about how awesome the band is and how much fun they’re having. And this will continue for weeks and months after your wedding!

Clockwork Boston stole the evening and our guests could not stop telling us how good they were. They know how to have a party, and despite many folks leaving our Sunday evening wedding a little early, the vibes were incredible all the way to the final song. I never left the dance floor, and glad I didn't! One piece of advice, we wish we chose more swing/oldie/calmer dance music for the DJ break in between sets. Just a suggestion for any future couples to be!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.8

  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Thomaston, ME

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
I ordered the "peaches and cream" small package. We decided to skip on ceremony florals, and only have handhelds and bud vases at the reception. We did buy a few more flowers from the grocery to add more peach once the flowers arrived. We made and medium sized bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 corsages, and 7 bouts. (With lots of flowers left over). My bridesmaids and I did the arranging the morning before the wedding; it was fun, and a great start to the weekend. None of us had experience, but it all turned out great! If you or your bridal party are mildly crafty, I'd highly recommend it!

Lacie was absolutely phenomenal to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. From the moment we jumped on a phone call to see if they were a right fit, I knew they would be. Her enthusiasm, understanding, outgoing way that she relates to people is an energy that you want on your big day. Our engagement session was incredible, she moves so quickly but efficiently, as to ensure you get all the shots you want, but is very mindful of time. Our wedding day was COMPLETE because of Lacie. In addition to her positive attitude, she helped smooth the timeline of events during the day when exterior factors were impacting the photography, and problem solved so wonderfully on the spot. She stepped in to help in moments that were above and beyond what we hired her for, and for that I am truly grateful. Her photography style is versatile and beautiful, specifically catered to your preference. I can't imagine a better photographer for our wedding and we are so grateful!

My husband and I LOVED working with Ali for our wedding at the Picnic House in Prospect Park! She was responsive to all of our questions and quick to answer calls and emails. On the day, she put everyone at ease and corralled everyone to get through the family portraits quickly. She totally captured our vision for the day and we're so happy with how our photos came out! We absolutely recommend working with Ali for your special day.

The Faux Bouquets

  • Florist
  • Starts at $175
  • Serves Thomaston, ME

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
The Faux Bouquets were great at communicating throughout the entire process! They provided amazing, lifelike floral arrangements that were beautiful in our wedding photos. This was such an easy and convenient service - we simply received the pre-made package, used them for our special day, then packaged them back up to send off. We were thrilled with the quality and value of their work, which truly contributed to making our wedding day perfect.

Wow, where do I start with Kameron? She was an absolute gem at our wedding! Even with the weather throwing us curveballs, rolled with it and got some incredible shots that made the rain look like pure magic. My family is crazy, but Kameron managed to capture the most beautiful moments amidst the chaos. Her calm vibe kept everyone in check and the photos turned out stunning. Highly recommend her for her talent and cool-under-pressure attitude!

I cannot believe we were ever considering not having a videographer after the amazing experience and video we got with Amanda at EightZero2. From the beginning, Amanda was super responsive and open with her thoughts on what would work best for our day (drone footage, raw footage, etc.). The day of, her process was so smooth and seamless - we felt so comfortable around her and she vibed PERFECTLY with our photo team. She got our preview video out to us before we even landed for our honeymoon, and delivered absolutely amazing results. The drone footage added the absolute coolest panoramics, and the editing was perfect (she even reached out to ask if we wanted anything changed after the fact). Would (and already have) highly recommend Amanda to anyone getting married. You will not regret it!

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Awarded Best of Zola
Justin was phenomenal to work with! We hired him as we noticed how, compared to the other photographers we were considering, his images evoked fun and a world of vivid colors, and above all, everyone in his photos looked HAPPY, which is a harder quality to find in professional wedding photos than you might think. Anyway, Justin did not disappoint! While a consummate professional, he was also incredibly fun to work with and was great at putting us at ease in order to get the best, most natural photos possible. He brilliantly captured the warmth and love of our wedding day. We felt seen and understood throughout the process of working with him, and the resulting images were gorgeous, bursting with light, color, and joy.
