His pure love for music is infectious and even on the days when I was exhausted from working for 12 hours, you’d always catch me out on the dance floor if he was the dj. So when I choose him for my own wedding, it felt like a no-brainer. One thing I made clear up front is that a lot of our music might not be typical and that we wanted the music to literally be the soundtrack to the day through our eyes. Music has been a BIG part of our relationship and we wanted that to be part of our wedding just as much. He understood the “feeling,” we wanted and simply took our suggestions and filled the rest with his picks which we loved since he is the expert! The preparation prior to the wedding was what surprised me the most. Being a wedding photographer I had NO idea what was involved for the DJ. “Stephanie, aka DJ Stardust, DJed our wedding in June of 2023. Neither of us are huge music people, so we were looking for a DJ who could run with minimal direction, and Stephanie was exactly that! She was very organized and communicative leading up to the wedding day. She had a great form that we filled out with all the details you could possibly imagine in terms of songs we wanted/didn’t want/when, and she executed exactly as we expected. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were in three different rooms/spaces, and Stephanie seamlessly moved through providing appropriate music (and emceeing) at each. The one special thing we asked her to do was coordinate a “photo dash” (where everyone sitting at each table comes up to the dance floor for a group photo within the time limit of one song), and she did it very well. She accidentally skipped a table at one point, but rather than making a big deal about it, she joked about it and everyone laughed. The photo dash was one of the most talked-about things after our wedding. Something unique that our venue offered was the chance for DJs to plug into a high-end speaker system they had installed for a small fee. We asked Stephanie to do this, and at first she was hesitant because she didn’t want to be using equipment she wasn’t familiar with day-of (understandably!). Of her own volition, she reached out to our venue and coordinated a time where she could go see the equipment and practice setting up to make sure it would work with her equipment and just generally feel it out. We really appreciated her going above and beyond in this way, and the day of the wedding went off with no issues at all.”

This for us included baby photos displayed for our parent dances, custom logo displayed as well, a photobooth, and a superb violinist for our ceremony. They were also extremely attentive to my crazy long detailed must-play list. Their respect for it being your wedding day is truly what makes them stand out, they care and want you to have the best night ever. They truly do it all and they do it seamlessly. All I had to do was say what I wanted and they did it. They made planning entertainment for our day so easy. We wanted our wedding to be a party all night long. While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. We'd recommend HiMotive to other couples looking for an energetic DJ.”

“Alan C was easy and great to work with! We had a music range from Bad Bunny, Creed, The Killers and more! We shared with him a playlist of some of our favorite songs, a list of "do not play" whether they were styles of music, artists or specific songs and a "must play" list. His online forum was easy to navigate and use. We loved the uplighting and the audio guestbook (phone)!! Also I appreciate that he read and followed through with all the small notes we left for him (specifically we asked for father/daughter, mother/son and first dance to end after the chorus and not play the entire 3-4 minutes). Such a great time. We received so many compliments on our music and the dance floor was busy all night long! He was always very responsive and quick to work with any last minute changes (we had a rainy day).”
