The River Terrace At Shaw Center For The Arts

5.0

Baton Rouge, LA
  • Up to 325 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

From intimate wedding ceremonies to large receptions, the River Terrace at Shaw Center for the Arts features a glass-enclosed room with an outdoor terrace overlooking the Mississippi River and downtown Baton Rouge.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a luxe vibe
  • All-inclusive venue packages
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Best for events with big guest lists
Aimee Priscilla were so helpful and responsive throughout our entire wedding planning process! When we toured the venue for the first time, we knew we wanted to book the River Terrace for our wedding ceremony reception ASAP. The views from the rooftop terrace are absolutely amazing. We have the most breathtaking photographs taken at sunset! The food was 10/10; everything was delicious, and our guests were sure to tell us the same thing! The beautifully decorated bridal suite was a little too small for my bridal party to get ready in (11 bridesmaids), but we loved spending time relaxing and drinking champagne inside the bridal suite leading up to the ceremony! I do think it would be a lovely space for a smaller party to get ready in, but if not, I definitely recommend getting to the venue early so you have time to enjoy the bridal suite with your bridal party (so pretty inside, big mirror, chandelier, champagne fridge). The bridal suite was also used for our private dinner, which was nice and intimate. We recommend The River Terrace at Shaw Center for the Arts to all couples looking for a gorgeous venue in Baton Rouge.

I was married at First Presbyterian Church and found them to be the epitome of God Is Love! The church staff was welcoming and accommodating to give couples and parents a "church" wedding that feels right for both generations. Not too many rules about music or ceremony, welcoming guest ministers. We used the church's minister and couldn't have been happier. The building is gorgeous on the inside and outside, great acoustics, an old fashioned church bell, and a great center aisle to walk down. I love all of my pictures and memories.

Awarded Best of Zola
Our 100 person wedding at Paradigm Gardens in April of 2024 was perfect. For starters, their Private Events Director Karen is unparalleled. Communication was clear and consistent from the very beginning, and we never felt like they were trying to upsell us. As two more laid-back brides, she made sure we didn't overlook any important details. If your food is the most important aspect of your wedding, stop reading this and call Paradigm Gardens to book now. Our budget was fairly limited, but Chef Pat over at Karibu Kitchen (Paradigm Gardens' Catering) made the most of every dollar we spent. The food and bar packages were, hands down, the best we encountered at any venue in New Orleans. We had so much fun designing our custom menu with Chef Pat, and the tasting at Tchoup yard was one of our favorite parts of the planning process. Our family and friends still tell us it was the best food they've ever had at any wedding. The team even went out of their way to make sure our bar included our favorite brand of pickle vodka shots which turned out to be one of the highlights of the night. The location in Central City was perfect. It allowed us to have our rehearsal dinner downtown, and also take our pre-ceremony pictures at Audubon Park without requiring much driving time to and from the venue. The lush garden was more than we could have asked for as a backdrop. We said our vows in a short ceremony then watched the sunset over cocktails and dinner. The jasmine was in full bloom which made for awesome photos. The goats were a big hit with our wedding guests and the outdoor kitchen acted as a sort of fiery centerpiece to the whole evening. We had a local DJ playing New Orleans bounce and spent the majority of the night on the dance floor under the string lights. Without a massive budget, we anticipated having to compromise on a lot of aspects to be able to afford a wedding in New Orleans, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. We will forever be grateful to the folks at Paradigm Gardens for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to the Intercontiental Hotel for our wedding weekend. The staff from the get-go (parking and bell hops) were so so kind. The front desk staff and managers were so kind. Down to the event staff and the Operations Manager, Brian Parker. They were there for us for anything and everything we needed and treated us as if we were their friends. Our guests and family members even complimented us on how well they were treated by everyone at the hotel. The newly renovated ballroom here is stunning! It was everything we could have ever dreamed of! And we received so many compliments on the food. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a hotel wedding in the city. We loved everything about the Margaret Place. Communication was easy, the owner was quick with responses and accommodating for all of our questions and needs. The space is very modular so you can change the layout/floorplan to your exact desire. We had the ceremony followed by a second line while they flipped the space for the rehearsal. It was all so streamlined and when we got back the space had a whole different vibe. We had the dance floor in the loung, which made it a little more intimate and it looked amazing! Highly reccomend the Margaret Place
