Hi! My name is Ashley Schwartz and I am the owner and baker here at Torta! I enjoyed baking when I was little, especially the times when my family would bake Christmas cookies together, but it wasn't until high school when I took a cake decorating class at Micheal's with my mom and sister that I discovered baking as an art form and truly fell in love. During my senior year, I decided to pursue baking as a career. While I loved working for local businesses, I wanted to be able to connect my baking back to my roots and began to experiment with my own recipes from my childhood. I started selling my baked goods to friends and family.

Determined to attend the Culinary Institute of America, I convinced restauranteurs in the Rochester, NY, area to give me a chance and started baking "professionally" at 15. Five years later I did it! I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America as a pastry chef. In 1999, Gourmet Goodies was established in Victor, NY. A elegantly rustic newly built barn situated in the heart of the Fingerlakes of NY with breathtaking views. The private 22 acre property has a beautiful landscape, modern farmhouse style barn, outdoor patio and bar, a framed tent, large 1 acre pond and more.

Oak Knolls Manor was built in 1906 and is a preserved Wells Barn in Western New York. We host only ONE event a weekend which allows our clients the opportunity to slow down, have time to set up, and enjoy family and friends. The rural location really creates a destination wedding feel. The venue features our silos with propane fire pits and outdoor furniture to relax and take in the views. The silos are also a great spot for a cigar bar. Equipped with two large decks on either side of the venue, one is covered and remains completely waterproof even when the weather doesn't cooperate. The other overlooks the Genesee Valley where there is plenty of open space to see for miles. We have tables and padded fruitwood chairs to accommodate up to 250 guests. Including 8 farm tables, 20 rectangular tables, and 10 rounds. We also have durable padded ceremony chairs and two wood stained arbors to choose from along with ceremony coordination services. All included with venue and ceremony costs.
