The Box

Milwaukee, WI

The Box is a wedding venue with a modern and industrial feel based in Milwaukee, WI. Its blank-canvas aesthetic makes this an ideal space for couples who want to bring their own sense of style to their wedding celebrations. This urban, adaptable space is full of raw charm, and the design possibilities are endless. The venue can accommodate both ceremonies and receptions. Located in downtown Milwaukee and featuring an abundance of Cream City brick, The Box feels like pure Milwaukee. The open-concept floor plan, large windows, polished wood floors, and soaring ceilings create a beautiful blank canvas that to-be-weds can tailor to any vision. Whatever your taste, the building’s neutral palette will allow you and your partner to fill the space with your personality. The Box runs its own bar service, and couples can work with the venue to customize a package that meets their needs. This contemporary, industrial space provides a beautiful backdrop for one-of-a-kind celebrations.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides catering services
  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Not wheelchair accessible
Where do I begin?! We had our ceremony at the Doubletree Hilton and wanted a space for our reception close to the hotel, but without spending an arm and a leg. We booked The Box for our wedding reception in June and everything went perfectly. We were looking for a venue that was affordable and not over priced, no food/beverage minimum, minimal setup, timeless and beautiful, and that could accommodate our guest list of 75. The Box checked alllll of these boxes. I love that we were able to arrange the space how we envisioned and choose our own caterer (we used BelAir Cantina). Jamie worked with us to select a bar package that was extremely reasonable and fit our budget. We felt zero pressure during our meetings and Jamie assured me her team would make sure the space looked lovely, and she was right! We saved money on decor by using The Box’s candles and some lamps they provide, and we brought bud vases with flowers in for table decor. They had all the tables set and ready to go for my personal assistants to set up the little details (bud vases, signage, card box, etc). Both Jamie and Jaime were a delight to work with and made sure we felt comfortable and happy. They were both very responsive and answered all of my questions. I felt like they truly cared about helping to make our wedding day successful and that meant so much to us. There seemed to be plenty of street parking and I know a few guests utilized the parking garage kitty corner across the street with no issues. 10/10 would recommend The Box for a wedding reception or any event for that matter. This space has so much potential and they can help bring your vision to life. I am so happy we chose The Box to celebrate our marriage with our favorite people!! Also downtown Milwaukee and the riverwalk are within walking distance and are PERFECT for photos, even in the rain.

The Factory on Barclay

5.0

Milwaukee, WI
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,500

The Factory on Barclay is one of the largest Industrial venues in Southeast Wisconsin. The 2-story Cream City Brick walls throughout the space encompasses the history of Milwaukee and provides a grand backdrop for any wedding style. Accommodating up to 300 seated guests or up to 400 for a cocktail style reception, along with an onsite ceremony, The Factory offers great options for groups of most sizes. Enjoy the 2 oversized, separate, onsite suites to get ready whether you choose to hold your ceremony onsite or offsite. Guests enjoy the large, outdoor patio with warm cafe lighting to enjoy the fresh air.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor for celebration
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Space for a large guest list

Venue considerations

  • Requires outside catering services
  • Does not allow pets
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
We couldn't have picked a more beautiful, open and perfect venue than the Factory on Barclay. We got married 5/13 and people are still messaging me about how stunning the venue was. Sarah was amazing every step of the way from letting us tour multiple times with different family members, owning set up of our day and tear down. We didn't have to worry about a thing besides having our day. The rest of the staff day-of was absolutely awesome as well. Alcohol is provided. Bartenders were awesome and dealt with the party atmosphere of our wedding really well. We had a little scheduling issue where, surprisingly, we were ahead of schedule and Sarah got all vendors to move things ahead 30 mins. You get so much for your money as well. The space itself is massive and makes the day flow really easily. We did everything on-site, (getting ready, pics, ceremony and reception) and it was the perfect space. Getting ready suites are huge and a big plus. Recommended vendors usually sway people in the opposite direction because you have a smaller list of caterers to chose from, but it's evident that the staff at the Factory and Sarah have taken the time to curate a list of vendors that make a lot of sense for all different budgets and different experiences. We wouldn't do a thing differently regarding our venue search. Truly was the most beautiful day. Will add pictures once we get our formal pics from our photographer!

The in-house services are so convenient, and the new getting-ready suite is gorgeous and perfect for a relaxing morning. The entire team was incredible throughout our two-year planning process—fun, professional, and detail-oriented.
