It’s by immersing myself in travel that my eyes were first opened to videography. Being an adoptee from another country I fell in love with the process of collecting memories. I feel that my exposure to changing environments has allowed me to appreciate things from various perspectives and remain calm and assertive in fast pace situations. Such as weddings! Hello! My name is Alec and I run Small Batch Films! With a Master's Degree in Business Administration, I never thought I would find my love in wedding videography. I initially picked up a camera as a hobby, and then friends started asking me to do photography for them. Pretty soon I was doing photography for my friend's weddings, and I was hooked. It was such an exhilarating feeling to capture such an important day in the lives of two people in love! But where I really found my love was with the video camera.

Cinematography has given me the creative outlet to tell stories that I always wanted growing up and my couples have given me amazing stories to tell. My main philosophy when it comes to Wedding Filmmaking is that it is not only about creating a video that tells the story of the wedding day, but it’s also about creating a film that tells the story of the couple. My filming style has been described as documentarian and pleasantly discrete. I may stage a few shots from time to time and I will work with the photographer as they are posing you for specific shots, but my films are defined by the fleeting moments in the midst of a very busy day.

I've been blessed to get to work with so many incredible couples since 2012! The feelings you experience on your wedding day are like no other, and I strive to emulate that through my films. Just as each wedding is different, each film is uniquely different. I've learned over the years when and where to position myself to capture the best moments but also being aware of guests and other vendors. I'm discreet during formalities and up in the action for dancing and fun!

In 2013, after working professionally in film for many years, I began to apply my interest in storytelling to creating authentic wedding videos. My filmmaking style is a blend of cinematic and documentary elements, with an emphasis on music and emotional expression. My favorite moments to capture are honest and unplanned, so I like to stay in tune and shoot what happens naturally. When I'm not attending weddings, I enjoy writing music, reading, and spending time with my wife and kids in West Chester, PA.

He then went on to complete his Masters in Business Administration at Penn State University in 2006. After forming Valley Creek Productions in 2005, Justin shot over 500 weddings, events, and corporate videography projects.
