He started providing DJ entertainment for grade schools and parties and as he grew older demand for his company’s services soared. Soon, those same students he was playing for in school gymnasiums and cafeterias were getting married and many hired his company to perform at their weddings. Ken gradually handed the reins of the company over to the very capable hands of his brothers, Jon and Dave Schaffer.

Bassist and bandleader Josh Levine got his start in the professional music business busking in SoHo with The Flying Neutrinos in ’93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of NYC with percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista, renowned flutist Itai Kriss making his debut on Cuban trés guitar, and María Raquel on vocals and minor percussion. Before long, the quartet had generated some buzz, several venues hired them to play outdoors and pianist Gabriel Chakarji and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist Jeremy Bosch became staples of the group.

I play at special events, and contract musicians to play at special events all around NYC and the surrounding areas! I drive all over the North East, and will fly cross-country if need be. My services include string quartets, trios, duets, and soloists. Anything from piano and violin, or cello and violin, to string quartet with percussion - whatever you envision!
