She started out by making family cakes, eventually sharing them on social media. Within months a family business turned into a full time business. Cakes by Melissa has created artisinal cakes for the last 15 years. From H.S prom cupcakes, to a shed made for Tanglewood, to large corporate orders, to the most intricately designed wedding cake. It has been her passion for years, and shows in each and every cake or dessert she makes.

    “Working with Melissa for our wedding was so easy during a time where everything is so stressful. We started with a tasting of all of the flavors we wanted to try, and after trying multiple different bakers prior and not being impressed, the taste of her cakes certainly reigned supreme! We were able to customize colors and flavors and mixing match to exactly what we wanted. On the day of the wedding, Melissa’s team came and set up the desserts, making everything again very stress-free. Everyone was very happy with the flavors of the cakes and I would highly recommend Melissa for your next event! Whether it’s a wedding, a baby shower, a birthday cake she is skilled to help your ideas come to life! I wish we were able to attach photographs because everything came out so beautiful”

    “Choosing Cakes by Reba was the best choice of vendor we made for our reception. Our wedding was 11 months ago (apologies on taking so long to write the review), but our families are still talking about the cake and desserts we had at our reception! Reba was wonderful to work with, offered great suggestions as we were trying to decide cake flavors, and offered the best expertise. In addition to the wedding cake, we ordered specialty cupcakes and cheesecake bites. The groom's father passed away before the wedding, so adding toffee crumbles (his favorite sweet) to the top of the cheesecake bites was a personal touch that the guests absolutely loved. Reba was communicative, punctual on the day of, and easy to work with. I would recommend Cakes by Reba as the perfect choice for a wedding cake and dessert vendor for your wedding. You will not regret it! Her work was delicious and equally as stunning to look at. Thank you Reba for all you did for us for our wedding.”

    “Working with Crystle was a joy. From consultation to execution and delivery, she was an absolute professional. My partner and I asked for a wedding cake that had both a naked cake appearance with pressed flowers, and she took our desires and created a beautiful cake for our special day! It was truly a piece of art. We had a two-tier vanilla buttercream with funfetti sponge, with strawberry and creme filling, and it was the most delicious cake we ever had. Additionally, she delivered our cake within our parameters and was very concise and informative with our venue about storage conditions, preparation and displaying. I will be using her services again in the future, and I highly recommend other couples to do the same. She is a wonderful vendor based in New Milford, CT! *We will add pictures when they become available to us”

We had an August wedding and were looking for something to cool folks down and also entertain the kids (and the adults, let's be honest) in between dinner and dessert. We picked a couple of seasonal flavors - they were delicious as always, and totally reasonably priced. The kids absolutely loved having a popsicle cart wheel right into the reception! Julie is just so nice and easy to work with, I highly recommend her business. You didn't know you needed a popsicle cart at your wedding, but now you do!”

    “Let me tell y’all - we had our wedding in a state we don’t live in, so it was very much a “trust the process and trust our vendors” kind of situation. Drew came THROUGH!!! She was so patient with us and made sure we had exactly what we wanted for our wedding cake, and oh my goodness was it delicious! My spouse and I had never eaten a wedding cake that 1) tasted so good, or 2) was that fluffy and moist. We were also able to get some allergy-friendly cupcakes, and they tasted exactly like the rest of the cake. We’re so glad we trusted Drew with our wedding cake and hope we have a reason to get a cake from them again soon!!”
