By this point, I had already accumulated 15 years of experience shooting wedding videos and my wife simply couldn't understand why I wasn't booking my own clients. She encouraged me to explore the idea. So, here we are. I named my company after my wife, Ebony Ellyce Ávila.

I grew-up in Belém, the state of Pará, in Brazil. When I explain where Belém is, I always say it is next to the Amazon. I also say what a beautiful city it is. I has been a fine arts photographer for more than 19 years, and my wife Saehee began as a video editor in television and radio but found her passion behind the lens. Together with Saehee we came to Chicago in 2012, where I received my MFA in Photography from the University of Illinois Chicago.
