“Working with the Buskirk Chumley theater was the best decision we made for the wedding, it was also the first decision. The venue is beautiful and can lend itself to any need or dream you have for your wedding. We actually used it as a movie theater, screening “Casablanca” during the ceremony and “Bringing Up Baby” during the reception. We used the dressing rooms to get ready, and the theater for the ceremony and reception so we didn’t have to do any additional traveling. The dressing rooms are big, and there is so much space to utilize from the stage, to the orchestra out, the inner lobby, the outer lobby, the mezzanine, the balcony - its perfect for any type of wedding. The events manager, Sami, also went above and beyond in communicating with me not only about the venue and my wants for it, but planning during a pandemic she kept me up to date on all city regulations to make sure we were always informed and how to best meet our needs. I also met with their technician, Skyler, before the wedding to explain my vision with lights, sound, media, etc and he also went above and beyond making my vision come to life. He worked with my photographer to set up amazingly lit photos. Sami and Skyler treated us with so much kindness and grace as we planned this wedding. I would recommended the BCT over and over again to every soon to be bride.”

“From the onset when we first started talking to Bill and his team, he was attentive to our vision. His thoughtfulness, communication, and feedback helped put our minds at ease during the whole planning process. The mansion really is a one stop shop, especially if you have a more intimate wedding planned. Glassware, stemware, cutlery, and dishes are all available for the reception. We had our wedding in the fall and knew that we wanted amber glasses/ decor for the event and had let Bill know we were purchasing some of this for our guests to use. What we didn’t expect was for him to give us access to all of the existing decor in the mansion that matched our aesthetic. You’re truly not just getting a fantastic venue; you’re working with an amazing person. We also originally planned to have a tent for the reception (which Bill gave a list of recommended places to rent from), as well as our ceremony in a different part of the venue. We changed our mind as the wedding got closer and Bill was not only flexible with this, but supportive and understanding. He helped us layout where we wanted certain decorations to go, how the seating should be arrange, and helped us map out what the day of the wedding would look like. He was so professional and was arguably as excited about our wedding as we were. Leading up to the day of the wedding, some of our guests were staying at the mansion. Bill and his team prepared the rooms for our guests and even made the moments before the wedding memorable as well. They had full use of the mansion and he was a call away if anything was needed. The backyard was decorated with strings of lights, a dance floor, and he had both pews and chairs for our guests to sit in during the ceremony. As for the venue itself, it was originally built by a furniture manufacture near the early twentieth century. The incredibly detailed woodwork throughout the house and in the historic dining room furniture reflect this history beautifully. The downstairs has two fireplaces that made perfect locations for family and group photographs. A freak thunderstorm delayed our departure from the venue, and once again, Bill came through by allowing us to stay an additional night there to ensure our travels were safe. You really can search across the country, but we truly don’t believe you will find a better venue or team than you would here. It made a potentially stressful event into such an amazing start to our marriage.”

We are quickly and easily able to hash out little details with the IU Auditorium without having to add more to the couples' to-do list (table size questions, arranging delivery times, access times, etc.). The space is beautiful, and we know that the IU Auditorium makes things easy for fellow vendors so we can all focus on making events perfect for our couples!”
