Laurenia is housed inside the Pythian Temple which has a history of remarkable local significance. Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls. The venue led to the formation of the Zulu Parading Club and even housed a popular rooftop bar known as “Piron’s Garden of Joy.” It is said that a young Louis Armstrong first played at The Pythian Temple. Laurenia is named after Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green’s wife. She assisted him in running his business, was a member of the NAACP, and was active in the early struggle for civil rights.

After decades of rest, the great hall of Sts. Peter & Paul has been lovingly restored with carfeul attention. Built in 1861, every pane of stained glass is infused with history and every brick with stores of days past. The Terminal, located at Lakefront Airport, is a New Orleans Tradition, dating back to the 1930's. At the time of its grand opening it was considered an architectural masterpiece. Built by the same architect that designed the Louisiana State Capitol building, it was the first major airport in the region, and served proudly as a general aviation airport to this day. Inside the terminal building, travelers would find an Art Deco wonderland, featuring murals by artist Xavier Gonzalez, friezes by Enrique R. Alferez and an array of stone wall and floor treatments. We allow you to bring whatever you care to eat or drink onboard, we provide ice chest, ice, waters, and sodas. The Big Kahuna is an incredibly fun way to get out on the water. The boat is perfect for having a themed wedding, or an intimate family wedding party, or a super fun bachelorette trip.

Located in the heart of Metairie, The Alexander Room and Terrace is truly a hidden gem. The Alexander Room was conceived and built by the International Brotherhood of Electricians in 1984. The intent was for The Alexander Room to be a contender among Metairie’s event venues. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the room was never marketed to the general public. In 2014, Troy and Cindy Timphony of Hobnobber Café were approached with the idea of taking over the catering, management and marketing of the Alexander Room. Over the course of the next few years improvements were made, menus prepared and website and social media added to bring you the polished jewel that is The Alexander Room and Terrace.
