From the first time we met with the team at Ogontz Rustic Resort, we were impressed by their timely, genuine, and knowledgeable communication. They took amazing care of us and all our guests, from the 3-month-old babies to my 91-year-old Grandpa, ensuring our wedding day was truly incredible and a family affair. It was incredibly important to us to have all of family and friends in one spot for the weekend. We had guests from all around the globe, and everyone agreed there was no where like it. We had our September 2024 wedding at FF and let me tell you, this place and these owners are special. Farmhouse Flowers was the first and only venue we looked at. From the beginning, Thomas (co-owner) was so patient with all of our questions. We immediately got the sense that he cared about us and our event. He even gave us suggestions for how we should word certain things when speaking to different venues! Working with the FF team in the months leading up to your wedding is stress free. They get everything organized and set up for your event far in advance and are so easy to work with. They are flexible and are willing to do anything they can to make your event perfect. In the week leading up to our event, Bridget (co-owner) went into labor and had a baby. She was literally at the venue the NEXT DAY setting up flowers to make sure our event was on track. They showed no signs of stress and just continued to blow us away. The day before our wedding, Thomas was at the property assisting us with anything and everything. The only word I can use to describe our wedding day is perfect. The entire property comes together to create such a beautiful environment for the wedding party and the guests. The house on the property is perfect for getting ready or for providing lodgings for vendors. The ceremony spot is STUNNING, it overlooks fields of beautiful flowers, the barn, and beautiful Vermont landscapes. Our reception was such a hit. There are so many things for guests to do throughout the day. They can play with cutie animals, sit by the pond, enjoy the firepit, stroll through the garden, play cornhole, or dance the night away. If you are looking for a rustic New England vibe wedding, look no further. This venue and the owners will make your wedding day absolutely unforgettable.

Stickney Farms

4.8

Roxbury, VT
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $4,000

We are a very laid back team of husband and wife running his family's 6th generation family farm. We are rustic but also a charming, authentic Vermont experience. The barn can become incredibly elegant for a more formal affair but can also look just perfect with some simple, personal accents. Some of the great things that people love about our venue is our relaxed vibe, we are a BYOB facility and we allow any and all outside vendors. We can house up to 50 guests in the 4 houses that are available on our property. We also allow camping anywhere on the 350 acre property and we have an awesome "glamping site" available for rent as well. We are a weekend rental with the ability to add on days before and after the event to prepare and to relax after. We also have no curfews and encourage you and your guests to party in the barn or around the firepit all night long.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Rustic charm with elegance
  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Feels like a getaway

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • Additional event staff required
  • Best for events with big guest lists
We could not have been happier with our experience of getting married at Stickney Farms. Having our family and friends stay with us on site for the weekend was invaluable, the ceremony space by the river was beautiful, and the dance hall barn was the perfect setting for dinner and dancing late into the night. Jen was wonderful to work with, from the earliest days of booking the venue right through the wedding weekend. Jen was always clear and prompt with communication, which was incredibly helpful as we planned the big event and coordinated with other vendors. Our friends and family continue to tell us how wonderful the wedding and venue were, and we couldn't agree more! We're so grateful that Stickney Farms provided the space and support to make our wedding the incredible celebration it was.

Abigail, Molly, Megan and the whole sugarbush team did an amazing job in our end of August wedding. Molly worked closely with us for 8 months, very professional, responsive and helpful in assisting us finding vendors and coordinating with vendors. She not only made detailed arrangements and timetables for wedding parties, also proactively reached out to photographer, DJ, florists and bakery to made sure everything is in place. We enjoyed our wedding day simply following Molly and Megan’s lead. Their team made everything smooth, especially when we encountered guest change and extra guest issue. Molly solved it super quickly. We also chose to reserved most of the rooms in the claybrook hotel so it is very convenient for welcome party and the wedding. We could not go up the mountain due to raining and windy but we had wedding on the grass. The photos came out so nice. Our guests gave us so many compliments. We highly recommend Sugarbush resort and very thankful for Molly and the whole team.

The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch was truly a DREAM wedding venue! From the moment we first saw it, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. We celebrated our marriage (actually on our first anniversary) on 9/28/2024, and over the span of almost 2 years of planning, Jenn, Jamie and Steve were wonderful to work with. They accommodated us visiting several times after booking to see more details and ask questions. As we got closer to our wedding date, Jamie worked with us to develop our timeline full of so many details. They were so welcoming of us and our family, allowing my brother, a pastry chef & restaurant owner, to build the wedding cake on site the day of the wedding. Jenn was there with a smiling face and coffee ready for our early morning start. And Jamie set up everything so beautifully, including all of our decor that was very intricate (my favorite being the most amazing bookshelf escort wall I made, using The Barn’s shelf out on the patio!) Jamie did a wonderful job keeping everyone on time and in the right place. When the shuttle went to the wrong pickup location, Jamie got it all figured out and even though we started the ceremony late because of it, we were able to make up some time and stay on schedule for the rest of the evening. Overall, we are beyond happy with our day! The weather and the foliage were perfect, and every single detail came together so beautifully. We can’t say thank you enough to the amazing team at The Barn, and would highly recommend having your dream Vermont wedding here!

We could not have been happier with our decision to get married at Owl’s Nest. The entire staff is professional and will accommodate anyone’s needs. The facility itself is first class. Golf, tennis, pickleball, brand new onsite housing with more amenities to come. This is becoming one of the best resorts in all of New England. We were fortunate enough to get married at the new pavilion that is on top of hill. With weather on our side we were able to have the perfect ceremony overlooking the mountains behind us and the sunsetting in the background. You will not be disappointed choosing Owl’s Nest as your wedding destination. I can say with full confidence anyone who is lucky enough to have Gail Batstone as their wedding coordinator will have the best experience they could ask for. Gail went above and beyond for us on several occasions including accommodating last-minute changes to the wedding. Gail was quick to respond to emails, attentive and knew every little detail of our wedding.

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available
  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
My husband and I got married at the Barn on the Pemi on 5/31/24, which works closely with the Common Man Inn & Spa. We had our room block, rehearsal dinner, and after party at the Inn, but I'm here to rave about our experience with the Spa! After booking our venue, I spoke to the Inn about any accommodations or recommendations they might have for somewhere for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready the morning of the wedding. They actually have what they affectionately call the "Getting Ready Room," which can be reserved ahead of time. I saw some pictures, saw that the room had some nice natural light, floor to ceiling mirrors and salon chairs, so I figured it was our best bet. Come wedding week and I went down to the spa with my bridesmaid to see the room and the pictures definitely did not do it justice! The room is large with a sitting area with a couch, table and chairs in the middle and salon-style chairs and mirrors around the perimeter. Our hair and makeup stylists were THRILLED with the setup, since they are used to cramped, poorly-lit hotel rooms for wedding prep! I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but want to add one more thing. The night before the wedding, one of my nails (done at a salon back home) broke and popped off - nightmare! I kept the broken piece and brought it to the Spa the morning of the wedding to see if they could help. The Spa staff went above and beyond to make sure my nails looked perfect. One of their nail techs sat in front of my while I was having my makeup done, glued the nail piece back on, and put a top layer of the. white french tip and clear coat shellac over all of my nails to make sure they all looked the same. I would highly recommend the Spa Getting Ready Room for the morning of your wedding - the space and the staff are fantastic!
