Pave' is downtown Wilmington's newest event space. We are conveniently located on the ground floor on Water Street (near Chandler's Warf)...just steps away from the River Walk and the Cape Fear River. We book it out from 9-4 or 5-10pm. We are going GREEN and not meaning just adding plants (but yes, more plants the better). No more wasting water washing linen/dishes. Our plates/flatware/cups are biodegradable (we do offer an eclectic mix of real wine/champagne glasses). No more 6 foot banquet tables. This venue is meant for social gatherings. Pave' is cocktail style so lounge if you like on the couch, hop up on a bar stool or stand and mix/mingle. We offer all the rentals. There is only one bathroom at Pave' so that keeps our numbers comfortably in the 25-35 range. This is the vision for Pave'. In the year of 1762, Mr. Newberry and Mr. Thames purchased the land from Mr. Gray. In the deed, there was mention of a sawmill and grist mill on the place, but no mention of a house. In 1833 Mr. Byrne purchased the land from Mr. Newberry. At this time the house and store were on the land. Later on Mr. Byrne sold the land, and it change hands several times..." The house served as a mill home, store, and the Gray's Creek post office for many years.

Initially, the 62-acre Het Landhuis Estate was part of a 1,000-acre farm owned by the Henderson family who operated a tanyard in the area, making saddles and other leather items. One day a future bride drove past Het Landhuis; she stopped in the main driveway and asked if she could get married there. That conversation changed the course of the estate, and Het Landhuis had its Grand Opening in 2010. The Inn, originally named Engadine by its builder, Civil War Captain John Keais Hoyt, is an 1885 Queen Anne-style Victorian home. Engadine is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored and decorated to maintain its Victorian character and charm.  The Tom s. Gettys Center (formerly, Gettys Art Center), managed by the Arts Council of York County, is located in the Downtown Rock Hill Cultural District.
