Open Farmhouse is located on 300 acres of protected land in Redding, Connecticut. Just an hour and a half drive from New York City, it’s easily accessible by car or short shuttle from metro north. As part of a working farm, guests experience farm fresh produce, bucolic views and engagement with the land. Built in 1840, the historic Federal Style house sits at the center of the farm, with sweeping views of the surrounding fields and forests. Restored true to its era, it’s a grand yet inviting space for gatherings of 10 to 50 people. Five private bedrooms provide a good night’s sleep, with simple furnishings and comfortable mattresses. Three shared bathrooms allow everyone to get ready for the day. All linens and towels provided. Our vision is to create a place that fosters connection to the land, strengthens community, and plants seeds for cultural renewal.

Fall in love with our beautiful mansion and create the wedding of your dreams. Whatever season, whatever style, this historic home opens its doors and becomes yours for the day. Dress in our romantic bridal suite. Get married in our historic formal garden – it makes a magnificent stage for your outdoor ceremony. Commemorate your special day with photos in our manicured gardens or on the sweeping front lawn. And finally, celebrate with a reception in our spacious Garden Wing and other unique, historic rooms. If your dream is to have your reception under a tent, the DCA Meadowlands can accommodate up to five tent weddings per year.
