It is a true arts destination for York county as it is home to offices of the Arts Council of York County, the Rock Hill Pottery Center, Art on Main, Concerts at the Courtroom, Hill City Church, and artist studios. Swanee Theatre opened as a single screen movie theatre in 1940 and operated as such up until the 70's.
