Constructed in 1871 by Bavarian immigrant Philip H. Zorn Jr., Barrelhouse The Venue resides on the historic Zorn campus. As an annex to the brewery, Barrelhouse The Venue would manufacture beer barrels to house fresh beer prior to distribution around Northwest Indiana. Though unoccupied now, the original ice-house, brew-house, and malting building still stand across the street, a reminder of the dream Philip Zorn brought with him to America.

In 2015, chef and founder of Navarre Hospitality Group, Kurt Janowsky, set out to open a special kind of restaurant, with creative, delicious, and beautifully presented food paired with warm, personal service. In his words, he hoped to create: “A warm and inviting modern American restaurant that delivers an uncommon hospitality experience.” With Chef Chris Janowsky’s dedication to French cuisine, creative preparation, and bold flavors, a simple plan has blossomed into one of the top restaurants in the United States. Nestled back in the Hamilton Proper neighborhood The Hawthorns Country Club is conveniently located near 116th and Brookschool road. Our Nantucket feel clubhouse will lend itself to serve as a beautiful backdrop for family photos and canvas worth prints of couples. Choose from our natural green space ceremony complete with chairs and arbor or upgrade to our paved patio that includes a beautiful white arbor and ceremony chairs overlooking the 18th hole of our luscious golf course.

Our location seats over 150, has a 2,000 square foot production kitchen and a full service restaurant with bar. It is located in Carmel, Indiana and is booked 3 months in advance. When you arrive you walk through French doors, sparkling chandeliers over head, antiqued mirrors, French inspired furniture, beautiful seasonal decorations, gorgeous cakes on French porcelain platters topped with glass domes. Gwendolyn's shops offer the most incredible experience from ‘The Best Quiche You Will Ever Have’ to homemade soups, crab cakes, filets, salads, sandwiches, even a true French Croque Monsieur. Behind the kitchen window you can see the master bakers gently sieving non-bromated flours from Vermont, there are large pots of French & Belgian Chocolate melting on the stove, cakes baking in the ovens and decorators frosting the most exquisite cakes.
