An area once reserved solely for the practical application of aging beers, and on occasion for private beer dinners, we opened up this space for guests to host private events such as ceremonies, receptions, showers & rehearsal dinners. Located within DESTIHL Brewery, the Barrel Room is where you’ll find something unique. Our modern-industrial space is perfect for the craft beer experience, a place where you’ll be greeted with our warm hospitality, and an experience unlike any other in Central Illinois.

Allerton offers an extraordinary setting unlike any other. Beautiful Formal Gardens, pristine Natural Areas, a two-story hay barn, and a historic Mansion make Allerton the perfect place for your dream wedding. The historic Allerton Mansion features exquisite wood floors, marble fireplaces, elegant furnishings, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Meadow, reflecting pond, and woodlands. Each of our Formal Gardens creates a unique, magical space for a wedding ceremony. The Gardens feature extensive plantings and over 100 ornaments and sculptures. Set amid the beauty of an idyllic nine-acre farmstead, this converted two-story Dutch hay barn, with its exposed timbers and 30-foot ceiling, offers a rustic and charming atmosphere unlike others found in Central Illinois. The Music Barn seats up to 200 guests for wedding ceremonies. Because the Barn is not temperature controlled, it is only available to rent between April and October.

Edwards Place, built in 1833, was a social center of antebellum Springfield. In its gracious parlors Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, Ulysses S. Grant, and other Illinois luminaries gathered at elegant parties and balls. You, too, can have your special day in the same rooms where Abraham and Mary Lincoln were guests more than 150 years ago, now meticulously restored to the grandeur of their antebellum days. Edwards Place is available to rent for showers, weddings, and receptions – the perfect choice for a distinctive event in a historically significant setting. You can even include extra services for your event, such as the use of a piano often heard by Abraham Lincoln (and possibly played at his wedding!). Our rental space has three areas of possibility - the historic house museum, the grounds in front of Edwards Place, and the M.G. Nelson Gallery, a part of our parent organization, the Springfield Art Association, and directly attached by a doorway to historic Edwards Place.

The Old Rugged Barn property is extremely versatile and the perfect location for your rustic wedding and reception. Company 421 was established in 2021 as the perfect space to host an intimate gathering. Owner Hillary of Hillary Rae Events found that she was running into problems when trying to find a local venue space for her events less than 100 people that made her clients feel at home. That is what led her to establish Company 421 the perfect space to host small intimate weddings, rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, baby showers and so much more. Her goal was to create a space that her clients felt at home and comfortable, without having to deal with the stress involved with hosting a small gathering at her client’s actual house.

The Crowne Plaza Springfield is located just miles from Interstate 55 and 72. Offering both indoor and outdoor event spaces, the Crowne Plaza Springfield can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Construction on the Lake Springfield Postal Club began in the early 1940s. Post office employees donated over 50,000 hours on weekends, evenings and days off to complete the building. A team of horses and a sliding bucket were used to dig out the basement. The Postal Club officially opened in 1948. The total construction cost was approximately $15,000. In 2005, there were only two of the original Postal Club members left. In 2000 the Postal Club merged with the Springfield Firefighters Local 37. In 2001 the firefighters burned down the original Postal Club to make way for a new building. The new club was completed in 2002. The total construction cost was $3.6 million. The clubhouse is surrounded by 5 acres of woods, with boathouses, docks, beaches, parking lot, sidewalks, bandstand, and much more.
