Welcome! Hereford Hills is an event barn that will host any of your parties, weddings, corporate retreats, reunions, etc. We can provide caterers, photographers, florists, or any event need. All in a picturesque setting on a secluded 35 acre farm. Hereford Hills Event Venue is located on a 35 acre Registered Hereford Cattle Farm. It is conveniently located between Columbia, MS and Sumrall, MS. We are approximately 30 minutes outside of Hattiesburg, MS. We offer a bridal cottage with attached grain silo for a dressing room. The bridal cottage has an elegant rustic feel. We also offer a small grooms cabin for the groom and his party to hang out in until the big moment.

The Raymond venue is listed on the National Historic Register as the Raymond Motor Company. Originally a 1920’s garage warehouse, it set empty on the town square for decades. Our dream was to create a space for community and celebration in the heart of our charming downtown. It has been our joy to carefully restore it with extra thought and intention to share a most dreamy and awe-inspiring space. We are owned and operated by three friends and visionaries who are local residents who join many others thinking that Raymond is truly a hidden gem with untold potential. We are delighted to collectively realize a dream and fulfill a commitment to serve our community and state and provide a beautiful celebration space for all to enjoy. This is an old cotton gin built in thd 1050’s. It is very rustic, homey, & has a boho feel if decorated that way. We can hold 200 people Comfortably but we have had 300 before at a wedding. It can be dressed wag up or you can have a laid back setting.

What is now a natural haven of nearly 2,000 acres began with a deal made from love. Buddy and Joni McClain, who had married in the Chapel, began what was to become a labor of love when they purchased the original 468-acre property. When adjoining acreage became available, they jumped at the chance to expand their domain. The added property included what is now the Guest House, which was built between 1837 and 1841. A descendant of the home once wrote that the property was spared from burning by Gen. Sherman on his infamous march through the South, though he did water his horses in the lake out front, and his men took food and other supplies. Now beautifully renovated, the Guest House offers all the amenities of the home, coupled with the quaint feel of days gone by.

We want to give you a moment to soak in the different views and perhaps have a vision that no one else has had. The gardens and lawn change with every season, always giving a different look and feel. Whether it’s a ceremony on the steps, the front landing, in front of the fountain, in the Ceremony Circle, under a tent, or somewhere completely different - the magic can be created by you. Shane and I gave up our lives in the big city of Houston, both quit our jobs to pursue a life that was more in alignment with where our hearts are. Kara spent 20 years in Real Estate and Shane spent 30 years in Petro Chemical industry. They sold their house in Texas, bought a Poultry farm in Mississippi and now the Homestead Event Venue. They currently enjoy their animals, providing poultry/food for their community and serving in whatever way they can.
