The house was built in 1858 by William Bailey Lang, an English iron merchant. He fashioned it after a property in Derbyshire, England. Among the notable plantings on the site are the 470-year-old white oak tree and the massive rhododendron, both in the front of the property. Rowsley was named an Historic Landmark by the Village of Scarsdale in 1968, and in 2008, it was designated by the nation as a site on its National Register of Historic Places. The venue boosts countless photo areas both inside and outside with a stunning outdoor photo studio as well as a beautiful gazebo next to a quant waterfall. Inside we have 5 different fireplaces as well as a beautiful dove and butterfly plaster relief, modern bubble walls and a 50,000 piece glass mosaic wall. We have florall walls behind our head tables and floating staircases not to mention the numerous skylights both in and out of our ballrooms. The menu is a modern interpretation of classical Italian dishes with a very modern flair and is completely customizable.
