At the age of four, he started playing the fiddle and competing in contests around the state of Texas. Chris went on to learn the saxophone in high school which led him to a full scholarship from Abilene Christian University. Over the years, Chris has taught himself to play the mandolin, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, piano, and harmonia. After years of performing in clubs and dance halls, Chris was introduced to corporate events and weddings. He has traveled around the United States performing for well-known corporations, making him an established artist in the event industry.

The venue sits on 40 acres, full of mature oaks and beautiful landscaping. The outdoor ceremony site is held under a 400+ year old oak tree, with branches cascading down and seating to accommodate 250 guests. Guests then move seamlessly to our cocktail hour patio and inside for the reception. Our venue boasts 25 foot ceilings, with gorgeous chandeliers to bring a classy touch. The white shiplap walls, large windows & french doors create the perfect lighting for pictures & an elegant ambiance. One of our favorite personal touches is the balcony lounge, featuring a private bar, indoor balcony overlooking the dance floor, and a covered outdoor patio area. Before the wedding, the bridal party and family can enjoy our spacious bridal suite, equipped with 6 vanity spaces, a private full bathroom & plenty of cozy lounge spots. We have an ever-growing decor and festival option inventory that couples get to shop from as they plan their day. Plus we have an on-site woodshop where Mike custom makes every couple that books here a wooden sweetheart dining table to use at their festival and TAKE HOME! Hideout on the Horseshoe is the premiere spot for any couple looking to get married directly on the Guadalupe River. Centered in the Texas Hill Country, our venue has breathtaking views of the Guadalupe River and rolling hills which make for perfect photo ops! Your ceremony will take place riverside with the Guadalupe River as your backdrop and the reception will be held in our outdoor covered pavilion with a cool breeze coming off the river and hills.
